When I saw this quote – as simple as it is – my mind started spinning because it holds so much meaning in so many different ways. Then again, it nails it all down to the fact that the natural state of who we are is happiness.
Whatever tasks in life we have to face. Whatever challenge we have to manage. Whatever crisis we have to overcome. It has nothing to do with who we are. It has nothing to do with the being that faces, manages, overcomes. It is what that being does but not what it is.
The situations we experience in life have their impacts. They cause emotions and create feelings. Which gives food to our brain how to judge our experiences. That is the point when we run the risk of leaving the connection to who we really are and start identifying more with what we do AND with what others do to us! We get tricked by our minds. It doesn’t mean the mind is mean, bad, and dangerous… it is only unaware. The problem is that we forget about our origin, about our happy existence. We believe what the mind tells us. That is the birth of the ego. The longer we identify with our struggles, our jobs, our possessions, our failure and even our success, the more we make ourselves dependent on everything in the physical world.
But what is the use of the physical world? To educate, to “play”, to feel ourselves in all that makes this happy being in this lifetime. The physical lifetime will come to an end. But the soul remains. So, even the saddest moments are part of our experience but they don’t define our being. They can be a threat to our physical vehicle. They can make bring sadness and struggles. But they can’t do any damage to who we really are. Neither can they destroy or break the soul. Because one day we leave this shell behind and everything it carried. The soul will live on and come back with all the experience it made and with all the knowledge it needs to conquer another lifetime.
Nothing here lasts forever. So, let’s don’t talk ourselves into a dark cloud. When times get really tough then remember that we are more than this life. We are the being beneath this life which makes life possible. And when we find ourselves in a situation which seems to break us apart then let the happy being speak. Let it convince you that there is barely a situation you can turn for the better by yourself. It may need some efforts. it may mean that you have to leave your comfort zone behind. It may need courage. But it also means that one day you stand on a hill, stronger than before because you have aligned again with the strongest power you can get to achieve EVERYTHING – your happy soul!
Let your happy soul show the path and it will fill you with all the power, ideas, solutions, and passion you need to make this life a life. Because that is why you are here!
