In Love and Light
I am happy for all of my American friends that they will once again be able to celebrate this day under an administration that represents the importance and meaning of this day in its actions.
In Love and Light
Why is it that so many people have problems enjoying the moment they longed for only because that moment is determined to expire? I remember a homeopath I went to many years ago. It was the beginning of June, and summer unfolded its warmth and light as we love it. The weather was gorgeous that day. When I sat with her, I mentioned how much I enjoyed the season and how wonderful that it only began. With a frustrated face, she said: “And it is over so quickly.”Read more ›
Have you ever seen a bee
Following its purpose
Have you ever seen a tree
Doubting its strength and growth
Do you know that too? You were so full of anticipation for a particular event, for a special meeting, a vacation, or something you planned for a long time to experience? And then, the time arrived, and it was fantastic. Perhaps it even exceeded your expectations, but when it was over, you felt like falling into a hole. Even though you may be a realistic person, it was hard to accept that what you were so looking forward to turned into a memory in an instant. It can also happen when beloved habits or traditions suddenly change, like when friends or family members we met regularly move far away.Read more ›
After about two weeks of rain, we are enjoying our first real summer weekend. Yesterday, my husband and I decided spontaneously to take a trip to a nearby alpine lake (the Voralp Lake) in Switzerland. It is another beautiful and scenic place that is only about 25 minutes away from where we live. We walked around the lake and enjoyed some coffee, cake, and ice cream at the end. I enjoyed this spontaneous trip and the visit to the small lake restaurant so much. It felt like being on vacation, and it energized me like that.Read more ›

We hear it so often that we should enjoy life, not put anything off, let our soul unfold and follow the call of the heart. There are commitments, yes, but not all of them are real commitments. Many we do out of habit, even though times and circumstances have changed and the reason we took them on no longer even exists. We sometimes need to stop and examine how we are actually filling life. Is it only filled or is it also felt?Read more ›
I wish for sunshine
Wish for joy
That no one needs
To feel a void
A simple song
My heart wakes up
A smile spreads out
The first time I heard this song was in the movie “Rain Man” (1988, Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman). It was the reason I bought the record and more or less only listened to that song. Only later did I find out that there have been a lot more versions. Recently, I heard a new one on the radio. When I hear this song, I cannot sit still. It lifts my mood and makes my heart shine. What about you?Read more ›
Every other week, I am publishing an audio meditation on my website erikakind.com. Usually, I am doing group meditations in person, but due to the Corona situation, I switch to the audio option. However, the topic of this week is bringing clarity, balance, and steadfastness into life. To achieve that, we need to let go of illusions or self-imposed pressure due to the requirements we set ourselves.Read more ›
You’ve not come here to fight a war
To beg for love or deny what you adore
You’ve not come here to argue and scream
To doubt your worth or self-esteem
A good friend of mine opened her new store this morning. She has already been self-employed as an interior decorator and designer. But now she has a beautiful showroom tastefully decorated with perfectly matching items to welcome clients. This way, she has not only the possibility to inspire them and give an idea of what she can do, but she can also sit together with them right there and work out some first ideas. No more visiting them, then preparing drawings and offers at home, visiting them again, and only working with catalogs instead of a choice of samples. Of course, so much went wrong the closer the date of the opening came, but she is such a power-woman. Like a magician, she switched to alternatives that turned out as a much better option than the original idea or order.Read more ›
In 2008 Dr. Wayne Dyer published the book “Living the Wisdom of the Tao”. It contains the 81 verses of the Tao Te Ching. Wayne Dyer wrote an affirmation to each verse to bring the meaning of it to better awareness. I was fortunate to buy that book the first time I experienced Wayne Dyer live at a lecture, and I even got the book signed by the author himself. Still, it is giving me goosebumps to think back to the moment when I was standing in front of him, handing him the book, and got it signed.Read more ›
Saying goodbye to a year of big challenges, of overcoming old and new obstacles, of discovering the ability to adjust.
Farewell to a year of quite a lot of goodbyes regarding neighbors, relatives, and friends’ relatives.
This post is the last Monday post before Christmas. It would be obvious to talk about remembering the true meaning of Christmas or to relate to the current situation. But instantly there was one single word in my head: Enjoy!Read more ›
It is interesting what thoughts lead to the next one and the next one, and how they take you to solutions or insights you would never expect them to tell from the first thought. Lately, I was helping someone moving into a new apartment. They moved into our closer neighborhood. While I was driving to that apartment, I was thinking of how the area had changed only within the past 5 years. Many things came to my mind that changed in general during that time, and my thoughts went 20, 30 years back. I began to think of what my life impacted, what pushed me, what directed me, what guided me, and what I myself moved (with or without the influence from outside). Even though I often think that I got stuck when emotions are surfacing which I thought I had worked out when actually, I was only successfully pushing them back.Read more ›
What is the problem when someone is craving love? That person is convinced that love is outside of them, something that needs to be earned. They think that they don’t have it and therefore are in a place where they experience a lack of love. When we think we don’t have something, it causes us to feel a lack. That energy is sent out, and the universe will answer with the same energy. It is the energy of the feeling of “not having”. What we send out will come back: not having! The irony is that in not understanding that universal law, those people feel even confirmed by the experience of the consequences, and a long-lasting vicious circle can be the result that affects all parts of their lives.Read more ›
In addition to my Monday post, I would like to continue with thoughts of happiness. It is so important to understand that happiness is not something that is given or granted to us. Happiness is a decision, and yes, a state of mind. If I can choose to be unhappy, then I can also choose to be happy. Regardless of the situation, there is always something nearby that lifts the heart… simply dare to open your heart to it!Read more ›
We are constantly exposed to external influences. These influences determine how we influence ourselves. Because in the end, the influence of thoughts and deeds is only by yourself. Being influenced AND influencing happens unconsciously until you understand that your own thoughts do not just happen but can be controlled.Read more ›
Joy is always there. It can be that first sip of coffee, a warming ray of sun after three days of rain, or it is the cozy blanket and a cup of tea on a cold evening. It may be my own smile, and it is up to me when I am using it. Joy is always there. Sometimes it may be a bit buried, covered with dust or thrown in a corner… but it is there, waiting patiently until we let it shine again.Read more ›

For today’s #MomentsOfJoy I am sharing a song I was listening to over and over again. It is the theme song of the workshops of Esther and Jerry († Nov. 2011) Hicks. She is the author of The Law of Attraction, The Vortex, and many more books. When I was heading with highspeed to my breakthrough moment, this book was one of the stepstones. In 2009 I had the opportunity to join one of those workshops in which Esther Hicks is channeling Abraham, and it was an unforgettable experience.Read more ›
Lately, I had an interesting discussion with my business partner. He told me that on the way to work, he heard about a study on the radio. When you smile at someone, something begins to change in the brain cells of the other person. They are more responsive which has an effect on that person again who smiled in the first place. Also, there something changes in the brain cells which, in the end, makes both experience feelings of happiness. A smile does indeed connect, but it seems that is is a result of a switch the brain makes. And we know what an influence the brain has on our feelings.Read more ›

I think all of us make good use of some distractions from the current #1 theme. Why not sharing something funny, uplifting or beautiful (at least) once a week. It can be a joke, a picture with a beautiful view from the area you live or a place you like a lot, a song, a video, a story or whatever comes to your mind. It only needs to be positive with only positive words. I picked Wednesday for me because it is my guest quote/community day anyway. In my post The Opposite Of Fear Is Love I quoted Charlie Chaplin and remembered his beautiful poem. I also remembered a post I wrote about it a few years ago and decided to share it again. Charles Chaplin delivered this speech on his 70th birthday. Hello, everybody! I spent part of last weekend in a spa hotel in Tyrol, Austria. Because of my busy life, I enjoyed it, even more, to relax for at least a few hours. The hotel was amazing, and the huge spa area there is spread over 3 floors. I was in all the steam baths, the different pools (including an outdoor infinity pool), relaxed in the different lounges on normal beds, water beds, heated beds… YAY!!Read more ›
No mountain too high, no river too wide when it comes to realize our dreams. It may not be easy but as long as we pursue the goal there will be possibilities. I wrote a short metaphoric story regarding this topic and will share it with you today. Whatever is now does not define what will be. You can make it, if you only believe.
I took a walk through the forest. It was a beautiful early summer day. The sunlight found its way through the tiniest spaces between the already leafy treetops, and nature seemed to reach out its arms to me, full of energy. I perceived the humid, spicy scent of the forest air, which gave me a feeling of connection with this place. Although birds were chirping exuberantly and something was rustling in the undergrowth now and then, the atmosphere was so peaceful and harmonious that I almost had the feeling of being in a different world.Read more ›
In our society success seems to be defined by sales numbers, collecting awards and degrees, follower numbers, likes, possession… Yes, we all need to make a living and of course, want to enjoy life since money still rules this world. But even aside from the thoughts about our financial security still, the need for having more and more and more doesn’t stop. As long as society plays that game, those plans will work out.Read more ›
First thoughts may be doing what I want, no obligations, no duties, only taking care of myself and my needs. Perhaps this comes to mind first because barely someone can do this. But let’s pretend to go for this. It would lead to isolation pretty soon because it would mean to lock everyone out. In thinking we’d free ourselves we’d send ourselves in a home-made prison.Read more ›
I remind myself
To deal better with tasks when
I love what I do
I think there is no one who looks back at life and can say that there has never been a time when they were hurt by someone. Perhaps from the outside, it may have looked like a trifle but inside that particular person, it reached a very weak point. When more of such trifle episodes happen it becomes a wound growing wound which even becomes infected. Each tiny thing that adds to it can hurt so much more than if it had fallen on healthy ground. Even years or decades later, a single thought can trigger the memory and those hurtings can feel as if they just happened.Read more ›
It is not always easy to do that. Daily life, obligations, and responsibilities do have a legitimation in this too! But too often we are scared to even think about following that voice which creates such beautiful and alluring pictures in our heads. Read more ›
When we look at successful people, there is one thing they have in common: Enthusiasm. People who put themselves into their projects, who invest hours and hours, day and night, who don’t get tired to find ways and solutions, and who are not afraid to walk any necessary path in order to make their project a success, are highly enthusiastic about their vision.
Our friend Rob of Robert M. Goldstein invited his readers to participate. A love the idea about this challenge. We are talking nicely about others and value a lot about them but when it comes to ourselves… So, if you have a few minutes then please write down 10 beautiful things about you.

What is love? How can it be defined? I don’t know if we ever get its whole meaning or even an idea of it. But the 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 provides a profound insight into what love can be and how we recognize if it is love we feel or only an aspect of it. It gives a direction if we act out of love and if we live in a love that is life’s elixir and our origin. Love is all we really need. That’s why we do so much in order to receive love. We make sacrifices, fight, murder, die. Love is the basic need we all have in common. If we have love there is no need to compensate it with anything in the world. The real true pure of love makes every miracle possible. Then we have found the master-key to life. Read more ›

Last Wednesday, my daughter married her dream man and my son-in-law his dream girl. It was only the civil part which we all did not think was much of a big deal but it turned out more touching and emotional than expected. It is a gift and a blessing – more than I can express – to see my princess and her new husband so happy. He is one of those men, who anticipates a woman every wish. It is his greatest happiness to see her happy. She is fully aware of that and does the same for him. Amazing how they read each other. A dream couple! Read more ›

How far do our obligations go regarding keeping up with activities and services we once started? Life changes, our circumstances change, situations change, attitudes, change, priorities change… heck, we change! Imagine sitting on the top of a mountain and looking down into the valley. High up above, you see everything from a distance, the bigger picture. When I think of what I want to achieve in my life and to whom I want to grow, then I ask myself what shall be written in my bio. There is only one thing actually. I want to look back and can say, I have become a happy person. What more could I reach? What could I ever miss as long as I am happy? When I am happy, I feel content and love will never leave me. Whatever comes and goes in my life can make me sad but never unhappy. When I can say, I am happy, then I have become all that I can become.
Have a happy weekend!

We all experience what we allow ourselves to experience. We only see what we look at. Every day more things happen around us than we notice. And this is ok because we cannot absorb all that happens in all its varieties. That’s why we only see things from the state of consciousness we are at that moment. That is all it needs. Because everybody will find exactly what’s meant for them at that very moment. Isn’t it just amazing to think that even one single situation holds every little aspect for everyone who encounters it in its individual way? I am still mesmerized by that thought. Read more ›

I want to thank you all for the kindness, compassion, support, love, comfort, inspiration, wisdom that is shared every single day. Whatever one of us shares is a blessing for everyone. Today we’re standing
At a door
We were waiting for
We made it through
The worst of days
Eyes on the goal
In tight embrace
When did it happen?
But one day we
Found our hearts
No road for me
No road for you
Only one way
We headed to
Much more ahead
So much behind
A starlit path
We both defined
Now take my hand
Let’s walk right through
And let us make
Our dreams come true
On the weekend my daughter came over and we talked about her wedding. Of course, it inspired me again for a poem.
In Love and Light
No matter what was
Some days show the light’s ahead
You are right on track

The past weeks and months have not been easy. Not only for me but I noticed that there must have been a general change in the air affecting so many people around me. It appears like a big clearing to me. So many felt challenged in the way things developed, in decisions to make, in things falling apart, in happenings which opened up old gaps and let past memories and feelings rise again, in instantly changing life situations, and in much more. There were states of shock, desperations, breakdowns, and … the rise after the fall. Read more ›

“What shall I be thankful for? My world is only illness, disappointment, and work. I am abused and money is always rare.” It doesn’t always sound bad when asking some people what they are thankful for. Sometimes it even appears many people are actually defending themselves against finding something in life they could be thankful for. It would destroy their negative picture of the world. And this is exactly the origin of their black perspective. Concentrating on the injustice in the world, the own frustration, fear, suffering, or addictions doesn’t let anything else appear. Although it is there it is not recognized. Read more ›
It is clear to me that being serious is important to stay focused on your target and to not losing concentration most of all in difficult situations. But it has also become clear to me for many years that this can be exhausting and draw all your energy from you when it lasts too long. Most of all when it is not about temporary situations but for a period of difficult times.
Giving room to your silliness doesn’t mean that you don’t take circumstances serious. It means that you are opening an outlet to let go of the pressure some situations can cause It means to take a break from the “task” or challenge for some moments. When you keep your humor and see the irony in situations you stop being the problem. When you are laughing you relax the muscles in your whole body and what is important: When you are laughing you are also breathing deeply and fill your whole system with oxygen and therefore energy! It is like an energy shot.My boss and I can really tell stories about hectic and stressful times since we experience them for quite a while. But we never lost our silliness and making fun of the situation. We are laughing at ourselves and really can be so silly. Most of all now that I am in charge for so much more since my colleague won’t be coming back to work anymore and we don’t have something new yet, it is a task at times regarding stepping into fields I have never been before and learning quickly how to deal with them. But when you still can laugh about it, you are like a ventilation system. The pressure and stress get blown out and fresh air clears the cells.
It is also one of the tactics of not running the risk of becoming burned out or depressive through some happenings in life or some temporary situations. Keeping your humor means keeping your head above it. I don’t mean to ignore how things are but to see them from a distance in order to have the power to deal with them. Don’t forget that you are not what you are dealing with. You are not your problems. You are what makes you feel well. Because feeling well is your natural state of being. That’s why all things that make you feel good are empowering and all things that make you feel bad are exhausting.
We have to deal with difficult situations throughout our lives. Some can lead us to our limits. But they are there to make us develop because every task asks for something more or something new we need to activate within us. It is not something we need to invent. No, it is already there but was asleep until the moment arrived to wake it up. All we need for this lifetime is already within us. Therefore we need to connect with the being within that body through raising our energy frequency for making them match. The fastest way and the most effective tool is feeling good.
Being silly is not silly at all! It refreshes your body, clears your mind, detaches from who you are not, and that way keeps you healthy and empowers you to face your daily tasks!
In Love and Light
Lately, I came across this topic several times and thought it would make sense to repost an article I wrote almost 2 years ago:
Life isn’t about being someone we think we should be only because it sounds good because others want us to be, or in order to fit into a certain image of society. A faked personality only confuses the people around you and yourself over time more and more because the real identity gets lost.Read more ›
