Health & Beauty – Thyme

arrangement-2772438_960_720

Essential oils are the pure and concentrated essences of plants. Used are petals, roots, twigs, leaves, resins depending on the plant. For thyme oil, the haulms are the part of the plant that’s used. Since fall has already taken its seat again the main season of colds and flu is on the way again. Thyme oil is not only very effective for disinfecting the respiratory system when a cold has you in its tight grip, but it also works wonderfully as prevention from getting a cold since it disinfects the air for example by evaporation the oil in a fragrance lamp or diffuser (at home but also in offices or public places). Essential oils are the pure and concentrated essences of plants. Used are petals, roots, twigs, leaves, resins depending on the plant. For rosemary oil, the haulms are the part of the plant that’s used. It is another very versatile oil. Remember, I mentioned it as an optional part of my hair mask recipe for hair growth because it stimulates the root of the hair.  Read more ›

Health & Beauty – Lavender

Essential oils are the pure and concentrated essences of plants. Used are petals, roots, twigs, leaves, resins depending on the plant. From time to time I am going to share information about specific oils, their effects, and how to use them. Due to its multiple effects, when on the road with the kids I only took a long lavender oil and some band-aids. Due to its disinfectant, healing, and soothing effect, I had a one-in-all aid. This Monday post will be a little different from the usual ones. Many of you know that I am an aromatherapist and that I am running an aromatherapy practice (next to my job as a compliance officer). Emmett-Therapy

psoas-move

I have to tell you about my new school. Last weekend the first part of this education took place.

Emmett Technique is a special form of body therapy that involves application of light finger pressure at specific points. These are in sequences that enable gentle releases for common problems which include neck, shoulder and back pain. Techniques derived from Ross’s observation skills that are also integrated within the treatment to encourage homeostasis.

Emmett Technique can be used as an effective adjunct to enhance the treatment value of other types of muscle release and neuro-musculoskeletal therapies, for example: Massage, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy or may be used as an effective therapy on its own. Accurate and fast assessment of imbalances present in the body are an integral feature of this technique.

The therapy addresses tissues that may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue (fascia), as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system.

The results are mind-blowing. My mom had problems with her balance. I treated her yesterday and when she walked up the stairs all of a sudden she stopped and said: “Oh my god, did you notice, I did not use the handrail. I did not even think about it. I feel so stable on my feet like never before.” I also treated my husband with his head ache and after a few applications it decreased dramatically.

I have four more weekends to go  until I can make my practitioner exam. I will offer this therapy in my practice as well.

So if you know a Emmett-Therapist  check it out. It helps quickly and lasting!

In Love and Light!

Facts on Aromatherapy

IMG_6032

By today I only blogged as an author. But I would also like to introduce you to my profession as an aromatherapist. In aromatherapy, we are working with essential oils. That are fragrant extracts of flowers, leaves, roots, fruits, and resin. All of those oils contain a variety of healing effects to body and mind and can be used for any kind of problems or at least as an additional supportive therapy. Today there are about 70 essential oils which are used for healing treatments. Read more ›
