Facts on Aromatherapy

IMG_6032

By today I only blogged as an author. But I would also like to introduce you to my profession as an aromatherapist. In aromatherapy, we are working with essential oils. That are fragrant extracts of flowers, leaves, roots, fruits, and resin. All of those oils contain a variety of healing effects to body and mind and can be used for any kind of problems or at least as an additional supportive therapy. Today there are about 70 essential oils which are used for healing treatments.

The power of those oils is enormous. They can be used both for physical and mental problems. No matter whether it is about sleeplessness, muscle tensions, infections, skin problems, veins, depression, neural pain or whatever, there is at least one oil that can provide relief or healing.

There are many ways of application:

Massage:
This is the most effective way to work the oils into the skin and further into the blood circulation in order to spread the healing effect to its maximum. During the massage the skin warms up, the pores are opening up and the healing active components can soak in.

Baths:
You can also have a bath with essential oils. This is a good way to treat back pain, infections, colds, and skin irritations.

Inhaling:
That’s another way for treating coughs, sore throats, colds, asthma, and bronchitis.

Vaporization:
This is very useful for depression, stress, anxieties, and mental problems in general, but also for colds and room disinfection

Creams/Body Oils/Lotions:
These items can be used for back pain or certain painful spots, but also for skin treatments, muscle tensions, colds, and much more

Hair tonics/Shampoos:
Hair loss, itchiness on your scalp, dandruff, and more

You see there are a lot of possibilities where essential oils find usage. But those oils are not only used for diseases but also for relaxation and wellness. Lots of my clients are not coming because they are not well. They come for a little time out, to relax and center again. Essential oils are masters in their relaxing effect since they are also working over the smell sense at the same time.

If you are interested in using essential oils ask an expert before you start. For example what quality to choose and of course about their effects. Not ever oil should be must be used directly on the skin. Also, there are oils which increase or decrease blood pressure or can have other harmful effects when misused. Most of the oils are very safe but also an overdose of them can entail risks.

I would love to give you hints for your personal use or a natural way of supporting your health and wellbeing with those essences!
