Aging Can Be Fun
It’s interesting to watch myself
How I deal with my life
When an already busy day
Says here’s one more surprise
It’s interesting to watch myself
How I deal with my life
When an already busy day
Says here’s one more surprise
When you start to realize
A plan you carried along
Maybe you ask yourself one day
If what you do is right or wrong
Pour all your burdens over me
Let all your worries fly free
When you are sad I open up a door
to lead you out of your inner war
There are those who lead you
When you don’t see a way
There are those who teach you
When you are led astray
Rise and fall
So close together
We need to risk both
Or we’ll get stuck forever
Every time I look outside
I see something new
Something growing, something flying
Clouds and sun in different hues
When I look back on my life
I see how far I’ve come
It needed effort, sometimes pain
Often it was a lonely run
The sun breaks through the clouds
The flower through the ground
The meadow becomes lush
The first bees buzz around
Each One’s Responsibility
Why is it that we still don’t see
That we are dancing our last dance
To save our planet, maybe we
Already lost our given chance
Whatever you were going through
You learned that it will pass
No matter how hard something was
You made it through, at last
I believe this world we see
Is more of sun than rain
When even some hurt one another
There are more to heal the pain
Since my work schedule in my employed job has changed, my weekly poem will be published on Thursdays from now on.
If I just could, if I had time
Too afraid to fall or fail
It’s too late, not worth the try
Such phrases make a life so pale
Today, I am sharing a poem I wrote back in 2014. That poem is part of my e-book “Enjoy Life!” which is available on amazon.
So many wonders in this world – at times, we’re blessed with light
Experiencing precious moments which illuminate the night
In them, we find true happiness, and in the dear ones in our life
The love we get from all of them: Keep in your heart to thrive!
Life is not always roses
There’s never been a promise
Through challenges and hurdles
We are to grow on these
What do you wish for?
What’s your desire?
Don’t dream too low
Let your dreams rise higher
A dirty man with a strange smell
Or maybe one who does
Make sure that our streets are clean
Or that the landscape thrives?
People are not good or bad
They’re the experience they make
What they believe is true might look
To us like a big fake
The world outside my window
Is grey and pretty cold
Maybe it’s only winter
But somehow, that’s not all
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns
You think you know what to leave, what to do
Then it throws you a sign, invisible to others
And you know that your thoughts were anything but true
Christmas season has begun
Opens my heart more
Makes me feel the love around
Stronger than before
Yesterday I shared a few things about my life with you. So, for today’s poem, I thought it was fitting to share the lyrics of the song I am currently working on. I spare you unnecessary text repetitions. I hope you like it.

Feeling like the end of days
Hope is almost gone
Feeling so much love in me
Seeing how the world could be
Absorbing all the good it holds
I know, not only I can see
There are a lot of things each day
A phrase, an image, a song
They trigger memories in me
Still vividly alive and strong
The wind blows strong around my ears
The days have gotten colder
Daylight’s making itself scarce
More textiles now, around my shoulder
The last warm rays of the September sun
Probably soon, summer has gone
You discover, you research
You work on your soul’s peace
You know you are to drop the weight
To find inner relief
Life’s not a straight clear road
There’re traffic jams, construction
Potholes and diversions
Detours and missed junctions
Sometimes I just smile
At the flight of a bee
At the crickets’ song
At the wind in the tree
When I let my thoughts fly free
Nothing holds me down
When I hold my limits high
Only my feet do touch the ground
I’m following the river
Beginning at its well
A tiny little trickle
Not knowing it will swell
Nothing can beat
a faithful heart
It has no doubt
Right from the start
Leaving seeds of kindness
With every step you take
Whenever you look back
You see the garden you create
Finding what I’m looking for
Finding what I need
Finding who I think I am
At least a germinal seed
When in your head
Is raging a hurricane
When every thought hurts
And drives you insane
Are you aware of how
precious you are today
In fact, you’ve always been
And you will always be
I wish I could forget
What in the past went wrong
Although I meant it well
I was weak and not strong
Following routines
Checking on their means
Organizing
Supervising
Handling people’s spleens
I send out a thought of love
Its feet, so light yet big
That it creates a path to walk
For several to follow it
The joy that a song can bring
When it reminds you of a time
That you enjoyed so much
We all want our place
We all want to succeed
We want approval and acceptance
For who we are for what we need
Listen to the wind when it softly blows through the leaves,
See the flowers waving with its melody,
Feel the gentle touch on your skin…
Feel the peace.
What do we need when flowers whither
Because there is no light, and no water fills the river
The thought when results don’t meet expectations
The desire when you are longing for explanations
When people don’t cooperate
When you begin your life to contemplate
When plans are shattered or don’t work out
When you wish for things your wallet does not allow
I’m thankful for my feelings, from happiness to pain.
I’m thankful that none of it I experience is in vain.
I’m thankful for nature, for the ocean’s endless wide range.
I’m thankful for each person that gives my view a change.
Have you ever really lived?
Have you smelled the flowers in winter
Or recognized the raindrops in a leaf
It’s so easy to judge someone
From your restricted point of view
But there’s a hidden iceberg
Behind what you think is true
You gave yourself
You gave your all
How can you now feel
Like hitting a wall
Hello, little Snowflake
Thanks for visiting me
Although you fell to death
You touched my nose with glee
Is love only a word
A feeling we explore
Does it subside over the years
What once was all and more
It’s that time of year again
When hearts are a little more
Transparent and open
From and to their core
When I get insecure and lose
The ground beneath my feet
When the horizon turns from blue
To black, a scary wall to meet
When thoughts of love
Run through my heart
When my mind stops
Its thoughts-spinning art
A soul creates so many dreams
Of what it wants to see
Some you drop while some you chase
Some you make your reality
My wish for you is that
Your wishes get fulfilled.
To make this coming true,
Your doubts have to be killed.
A chance that you missed
May not return
At least it leaves
A lesson to learn
The light has changed
From white to gold
The days, much shorter
The nights get cold
Escaping reality
For just a few days
Recharging my batteries
Clearing my mind’s maze
Forgiving can be hard
When things start to repeat
Intentions that things change
But seems, they never did
Love to look at my rose
Delicate petals unfold
Such delicate color
From a root that’s quite old
There are so many gifts surrounding us
We only have to open our eyes and see
There is so much beauty surrounding us
We only have to open our minds and feel
Only in silence, our minds are getting clear –
The clearer the mind, the smaller the fear.
Fulfillment
Have you ever seen a bee
Following its purpose
Have you ever seen a tree
Doubting its strength and growth
I’m sitting in a meadow
Pondering about life
What really is important
What is the greatest prize
The glow that I see in your eyes
The burning fire in your heart
The smile that’s getting brighter when
You feel that spring’s about to start
You’ve not come here to fight a war
To beg for love or deny what you adore
You’ve not come here to argue and scream
To doubt your worth or self-esteem
As you can see from the title, I have decided to expand the range of topics for poems on Tuesdays. For the most part, the poems remain romantic, but I am often inspired by other things that I would like to share. Since I can’t find the time to post more often, I choose this option. Ultimately though, it’s always about love anyway, just not always the romantic kind.
