Each One’s Responsibility
Why is it that we still don’t see
That we are dancing our last dance
To save our planet, maybe we
Already lost our given chance
Necessary measures
Stretched for far too long
Meanwhile Mother nature
Started dancing on her own
Ignorance and egoism
Power and convenience
Almost destroyed our home
Especially that of our kids
When will we finally wake up
Only when we get blown away?
‘Though floodings and droughts take their turns
And devastations define our day?
It’s no excuse to say it’s them
It’s politics to make a start
When do we finally understand
That everyone can do their part?
In Love and Light
So shaky and beautiful. You should make a song out of it, Erika! xx Michael

Oh, that’s true! I have quite a collection from which to make song lyrics… hehe. Thanks for the hint, Michael!

Mother earth has definitely taken a beating these past few years but the hope remains that we all can do our part to bring more light to this world. Wonderful poem, Erika 🌞

We all need to do something actively. Everyone can do at least a little part. If everybody did a little, it would already have an effect. It starts by separating and recycling litter. I know from our time in the States that there was everything thrown into the garbage – I could not believe it. We tried our best to make at least our difference, which was not a lot since there was no infrastructure for separating litter. At least we collected bottles and took them back to the store.

Nowadays, there are at least two separate trash bins, one for garbage and one for recycling. It is not a difficult task, it only takes a conscious effort.

That’s already a progress. When even it seems one bin for everything. Over here you separate plastic, paper, glass, metal, oil, batteries,.. more or less everything. And we have recycling places everywhere to make it easy for the population. So, I hope this will happen across the US soon too.

For a while there was a real emphasis on recycling and keeping nature clean but it got lost in the shuffle at some point.

Oh, no, that’s a shame! Most of all, since climate change fills the headlines of every newspaper daily.

I’m sure there are organizations and people across the country who are still doing their part.

And hopefully as many individuals as possible. Only in the US I still see shopping cards standing in the midst of the parking lot because they are too lazy to put them back. So, if a lot of those people are not pushed by law they don’t do anyhting they are not forced to… sadly.

Unfortunately many people have that inconsiderate gene.
