I would do it again!

In addition to my blog post from Monday I want to share a very fitting poem of my collection with you.

The following poem is part of my poem book Enjoy Life! The content is kind of my story – from darkness to light, from hiding to breaking free – from fear to conquering life! This poem also contains the basic lyrics of my song I would do it again!, which I performed at my book presentation of the German version of I’m Free.

I would do it again!

I used to look back at my life and could see
Only struggles and people who were hurting me.
I gave my very best and tried hard to succeed,
Wanted some love and understanding in need.

But what did I find? Mostly trouble and pain.
I thought what I did was completely in vain.
Disappointment and sadness made me build up a wall
To find shelter behind and no sorrow at all.

But I only found darkness, felt lonely more and more.
Wasn’t able to find and walk out of the door.
The pressure got bigger, pushed me down to my knees.
When I thought I can’t make it, I felt this light breeze.

A hole in my wall where I could look through.
Saw light and heard laughter so warm and so true.
These walls I built up where no shelter at all.
Just kept me from growing, were a lie, held me small.

This hole in the wall – I finally got aware –
Was a window to my heart, let me find myself in there.
I had to go down to the most cruel, darkest ground,
To find my true beauty, my strength and inner peace beyond.

Today I look back at my life and can see
That nothing can hurt me unless I agree.
‘Cause whatever I went through made me who I am.
Thus I honestly tell you: I would do it again!

In Love and Light!

The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.

Absolutely, Rob! I am sure many people find themselves in that poem again. The phenomenon of hiding is, that we think we are the only ones hiding, since we are not talking about the problem because we are hiding behind the wall… a circle! It is a big Aha once we find out this is a misapprehension. Glad you like the photo. It was taken at my book presentation of the German “I’m Free” two years ago. Thanks for your comment, that’s always an enrichment 🙂

Hi Erika. It’s a beautiful poem, not only about your metamorphosis, but it’s a change that many of us can relate to. Thanks for sharing it with us. Love the photo, too! Where was that taken?
