Do you know that? Either out of the blue or in steady development new opportunities open up. You are getting offers for a new job or a better position, and you see something that makes you think of taking new steps, learning something new, or of going bigger in business. An idea, a vision forms, and is ignited by the enthusiasm it brings. In your excitement, you are talking to a close person, and… you only hear reasons why things won’t work out or get counted all the obstacles that “may” occur.
The interesting part is that you are well aware of the challenge and possible obstacles which may come with it but you have not denied starting the journey. Walking through that newly opened door means so much to you that those obstacles are worth facing. You have a concept. You know where to start and you know where you want to arrive. But even though you are excited, you don’t stress yourself out with the thought that you already need to know the whole path. You simply want to try it at least in order to know how it feels for you and if it is like you think it is. You are open to inviting something new into your life, to expand yourself, your knowledge, and your experience. And wherever it may lead you, you can only win. Having people sitting there shaking their heads is like someone is trying to break your wings.
I can imagine that someone who focuses on how difficult changes and opportunities are cannot deal easily with people who always want to improve themselves. But on the other hand, wanting to improve myself and having a doubter around is not supportive either. There will always be obstacles on our way but they only show up in order to test your intention to go for your goal and that way they are preparing you even better to reach it. Because they cause you to go into detail in order to prove that you can make it.
There are countless possibilities to see in one single situation. The success of a project is not depending on the obstacles on the way but on how you are dealing with them. Success lies in what you focus on and how determined and convinced you are. It is an inner concept and results from what you see in an opportunity. That is what can define the success or failure of that project from the first moment on. Bumpy roads are part of the journey. It is in fixing the potholes which prepare the road to reach your goals.
Sometimes it is hard to keep up your excitement when hearing discouraging feedback and comments although you know that it is the right thing to do. Don’t let them remove your battery and ruin the joy of your project or life. If you only share your plans without needing other people’s support, it doesn’t matter anyway. If you need their support then work even harder for it. Some people are not able to put themselves in your position. They cannot feel what you feel and don’t even make (or don’t want to make) the effort to see a certain situation through your eyes. Perhaps you mirror what they would have loved to do but did not attempt to do, for whatever reason. However, it is your point of view that counts the most. Those people may be the first obstacles that can show up and already test you how clear, enthusiastic, and convinced you are about your project.
I am convinced that making it over a bumpy road by never losing focus on your goal out of sight makes reaching it even more valuable. Sometimes the harder it was to succeed the prouder you are of yourself, the more you grew from it, and the stronger you have become to keep growing! Don’t let anyone discourage you. It is up to you if you see the chance or the obstacle in opportunities. Go with the choice that brings you closer and which enhances your excitement and energy to hang in! At last, you will stand on that mountain look at the valley below and shout out: I made it!!!
