For today’s post, I picked another card from my deck of Gateway cards by Denise Lynn. The card I turned around says: Soaring in Joy – Childlike wonders fills my life.
This really spoke to me in different ways. Maybe some happenings of the past weeks and the upcoming start of my new job seem to move around in the background of my mind. However, I am not as relaxed and light-hearted as expected and as I wanted to be in these summer days. Also, I know that some friends in our community experience a painful time. So, the card speaks volumes to me. And this is what came to me while letting my fingers dance over the keyboard:
Life can have its ways to test our flexibility in dealing with its tasks. It is not easy to stay centered when we feel overwhelmed. Work can be challenging, new tasks can be frightening, something can shake private life, and things can happen that bring us down to our knees – maybe even a few of those are coming together. It is human nature that we tend to let the circumstances take over when we are in shock. We feel unable to direct our thoughts and feelings. When the circumstances become burdensome for too long or impact our lives with long-lasting or unchangeable developments, the feeling can settle. But circumstances are still circumstances, no matter how sad, annoying, or scary. They will transform, change, or vanish over time. Nothing lasts forever but everything in this world is meant to change. You and I won’t vanish, yet we can change by choice. We must remember that we are allowed to feel happiness even in the darkest moments or hardships. There is no opposition. In fact, we need that break and remember that we are more than our circumstances. We are the life that deals with them – not the other way around. We are allowed to smile, laugh, and be happy at any moment in our lives. The darker the moment the more we should allow ourselves to breathe joy and give us a break from the oppressing feeling that is supposed to pass anyway. Nothing can change what happened, neither when we bury ourselves in pain nor when we smile. But if we let a spark of joy surface, we heal and strengthen us. We do it FOR ourselves and not against someone else. Don’t care what others think about you – it is YOUR life.
In letting that strength and newly found stability radiate from you, you are a pillar for others. It doesn’t mean you suppress something. You only know that life goes on and you see not only what was but also what can be.
But also when you don’t face any difficulties, let joy pull you out of the daily wheel. Let it fill you and what you do and make yourself a spark that inspires others to allow themselves to open that window and breathe joy.
Regardless of where you are, what you do,
or what you are going through right now,
grant yourself some joyful moments.
It doesn’t hurt anyone
but helps you not to lose yourself
and get your life back, piece by piece!

Thanks. This is meaningful for me. I’ve been so immersed in Mother’s care the last couple of years. While it was a joy to be with her, it was overwhelming. One day, I just decided I was over my head. Though she resisted, it was a good decision. She is blossoming again. Constant contact with friends has revitalized her. She walks now, is eating well, and has gained weight and strength. She is her old self. She needed friendships and stimulation. One friend died, another moved away, and another went into assisted living. Her life is back to normal.

This fits your situation indeed. I can vividly imagine how overwhelming this all can become. Especially when you are the only one in charge. The work, the worries… I am so happy for you all that she is in such a good place again, physically and mentally! I am scared thinking of the time when my mother cannot take care of herself anymore or worse… very scared!

Very wise and empowering words. Sometimes we are needing them as sign posts on the way we are striving along. Best wishes, Michael

This deck is my favorite oracle card deck. Since I have it, I almost only use this one. It is the Gateway Oracle Cards.
Childlike joy is the best joy to feel. It is so unburdened and enjoys itself without thinking of the next moment. It is in you, just maybe a bit dusty, but there. I hope you can feel it soon again 💖

That was a wonderful card pick. We can choose joy anywhere, at any moment and continue to charge ourselves up along our life’s journey. Amazing card pick!

Exactly! As so many things, feeling joy is a choice not a mercy. Joy is always available as long as we are able to feel. Glad the pick spoke to you, Sylvester!

It ever belongs to us Erika, to become that happiness and release those emotions that try to hold us contrary. We are shown many things in this world but slowly we understand that those inner fears are but a lie, holding us to ransom with a child’s heart. And in dealing with them a very beautiful and profound happiness begins to form. Ever there, ever glowing, with barely a thought as it becomes who we are.
A beautiful post kind lady, love spoken in its happiness in those words used my friend. Thank you for sharing what is to come 🤗❤️🙏

Indeed, in overcoming that lie we are feeling our own inner happiness so much deeper. With every time we align more and more with it. It is a beautiful and so encouraging thought, Mark. Thank you 💖

I am sorry to hear that but I am even more glad that this message found you so timely. It can be so frustrating and discouraging when your body puts you into a prison and you cannot follow your daily routines or simply a “normal” life. Hope you are much better soon. Joy for Joy 💖
