The Necessary Eye Of The Storm

After I was done writing this post I noticed that it turned out as a sequel to last weeks post Forth or Back?

A sunny Sunday noon. My view goes out towards the mountains. My willow is in full bloom. The birds are singing and life comes back to me. There is a lot of turmoil behind me already and a lot is still in front of me. But at the moment I feel like in the eye of the hurricane. I am content, patient, full of pictures for a new future. At the moment, the heaviness of the past weeks and months is falling off. I feel light and like moving towards a door which has been already open and only waiting for me to get there.

What sounds like a poem is a development most of us go through in our lives. Probably several times! We see a change coming and in the beginning, we feel it like a threat and try to walk around it. But it doesn’t work. Somehow, it always shows up in front of us. Until we are done with the constant detours because we realize that the only way to reach past it is to walk through it. We know that decision is not the easy path we choose but it is the right path.

I already mentioned that analogy in the past: It feels like a thick fog. You might lose your orientation and feel surrounded by obstacles. You don’t know how far you have already come because you feel like getting stuck in that fog. You might get desperate, impatient, and doubtful. You might even consider walking back where you came from because this all scares you so much. But after a little while, you see that it doesn’t make sense at all. Finding the way back might be even harder and in the end, you would never forgive yourself that you backed out. The frustration grew. So you simply continue the journey step by step and hope that you are still on track.

After that perhaps last decision to stick with your route, all of a sudden, the fog clears off more and more. That path gets clearer and the confirmation that you did the right thing gives you that power to walk on more determined than before. You feel a new strength and even passion rising up inside of you. Another breakthrough experience.

Doubts and contemplation are part of our journeys. They are important in order to know if you are still sure about the plan. Going back can be an option. In sitting down and reviewing it all you will find out what the journey by then taught you. Either to continue the journey or the distance makes you find something new about the place you came from. Then it is like a time-out you needed to see the whole picture again.

The eye of the hurricane makes you see that the sky is still blue and the sun is still shining. It doesn’t matter how many storms there may come because as soon as they appear they are already meant to pass! We only need some awareness to see what important hints and tools the storm blows towards us. And sometimes such a storm is necessary to clear the path… and the fog!

Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted, and become the blessing for all of us you were meant to be.

Thank you very much, Van! No storm is meant forever and when it is over the air is cleaner than before! Yes, that quote is great and makes one take a deep and strengthening breath! Have a good day, dear 💖

I can relate to this, especially at the moment sis. I feel like i am in the fog unable to move forward. I am longing to get excited about the sunshine I can see ahead, but until I have negotiated a couple of obstacles in the fog I have to remain focused! Hopefully I will get through in a week 🙂

Oh, my, Sis! Just hang in. Sometimes the less we can see the more we act intuitively which is a good thing. Step by step and all of a sudden it is the eind of the week. Embracing you strongly, Sis 💖

I am so pleased the fog is clearing, and the clarity is once again presenting itself.. I can only speak from my own experience of facing the eye of a storm.. It may well make you dizzy as it tosses you around, but once you have settled.. You find your feet.. and you see it headed you in a total different direction. While we are in the storm, its not always easy to see the direction it is leading us to..
But in hindsight all storms led me to the right road.. 🙂 xxxx ❤

Yes, exaclty! Sometimes they are even clearing off the path for us in order to remove the obstacles!! But we cannot understand that during the storm. I love what you said here! Thank you so much, Sue 💖

Great insight, Erika. We all wish we can just live in the eye of a storm forever, but what fun would that be? We have to be tested in order to learn who we are and to be better. Thanks for your lovely state of mind on the topic ☺

Right, remaining in the eye and standing still is good in order to order your inner world but only for hanging in and going through the second part of the storm again. I am glad it spoke to you, Anthony. Thank you so much for this comment. Always very appreciated.

Thank you for this post Erika – It’s very relevant to me. This have been going down hill for months now and I’ve got to a point of feeling like I’m fighting a losing battle and in some area’s of my life I’ve been thinking about going back. But maybe I should wait a little longer? 🙂 xo

It is not easy to know which way! And in the end, only the person can decide what to do. And as you said, sometimes we don’t even need to decide right away but should give us a break to ventilate the rational part within us!
