When I had my blogging break after Christmas, I used the time too for going through old posts and “renovate” them. I came across this one I posted in 2016. When I went through it, I got that feeling that it needs to be shared again. I hope the person(s) it is meant for will find some inspiration:
Since we still have this terrible war in the current conflict in Eastern Europe going, I would like to continue playing songs for peace and unity in this world for a while.
When times get tough, we tend to think back to “better” times. Times when everything was more relaxed, less hectic, less strenuous. Images of moments come to mind that you begin to miss or miss even more. And maybe you wish you could go back to those times and lose yourself in a bubble of the past. Maybe, you only realize how blessed those times actually were.
On Instagram, I saw posts about #NoFilterDay. That got me thinking. Does this mean that a lot of people post pictures of themselves with filters, basically? I am not talking about the funny filters with dog tongues, cat ears, and distorted faces but filters that make them look “better” (whatever that means). I never paid attention to this until now because I don’t use such things myself. Is it because these people want to impress others by looking a certain way that they think will get them more followers, or don’t they simply like the way they look? When I think about our “selfie” society, where people focus on themselves and the importance of what they do and eat all day, this would make sense.
I am happy for all of my American friends that they will once again be able to celebrate this day under an administration that represents the importance and meaning of this day in its actions.
In 2008 Dr. Wayne Dyer published the book “Living the Wisdom of the Tao”. It contains the 81 verses of the Tao Te Ching. Wayne Dyer wrote an affirmation to each verse to bring the meaning of it to better awareness. I was fortunate to buy that book the first time I experienced Wayne Dyer live at a lecture, and I even got the book signed by the author himself. Still, it is giving me goosebumps to think back to the moment when I was standing in front of him, handing him the book, and got it signed.
My Monday post “What means freedom” from three weeks ago triggered some very inspiring discussions. Still, freedom is a state of not feeling the need to escape a situation or a place. But how can we get there when the circumstances are so suffocating or when we are so afraid of what’s happening?
First thoughts may be doing what I want, no obligations, no duties, only taking care of myself and my needs. Perhaps this comes to mind first because barely someone can do this. But let’s pretend to go for this. It would lead to isolation pretty soon because it would mean to lock everyone out. In thinking we’d free ourselves we’d send ourselves in a home-made prison.
Last week I was talking about ignoring the bad behaviorof other people in order to free ourselves from their power over us and for preventing us from dimming our precious light. But there is another point where ignorance can act as a supportive tool of development: Fear Read more ›
