This post went in a different direction than I thought when I started writing it. But as we all know, there is a reason and I will let it be as it was written in its natural flow. I am sure it will reach the people or hearts it is meant for.
On the last day of 2018, I shared some thoughts about the connection of how everything that happens leads us to the place we are today. That also means that no matter how we may feel about our lives, we have never been more experienced than we are today. We are the best versions of ourselves in this very moment.
There are setbacks, of course. We start something with enthusiasm and passion. Or something beautiful seems to open up for us. And it is demotivating to see this all falling apart although we put so much lifeblood and effort into it. But that doesn’t mean you failed. Yes, sometimes situations can repeat. Sometimes they repeat because we did not get the whole meaning. Sometimes we need to take a detour to pack something in our backpack that we need to continue our journey on the main street.
What I want to say with this: Whatever you do, whatever step you take, whatever decision you make, how you act or react, it brings you further but never back! Every experience leaves an insight. So never let anyone tell you that you failed. It is your way, not their way. Life will help you to repeat or to go deeper. It is not a punishment it is to support our growth. Even if we cannot understand the meaning or see the greater context when we are in the middle of difficult times – and perhaps we never will – there is always a greater reason behind everything that happens. And the more we follow our inner compass the faster we will get past it and will reach the end of the valley.
Believe in yourself, believe in wise guidance, and believe that in the end, all will be fine. Looking back you will be proud to look down that mountain you just climbed and see that it was worth all the effort. Every little or bigger obstacle you face and overcome will make the joy of the view bigger.
If this year throws stones at you build beautiful castles from it or solid stepstones. From the ruins of broken dreams or relationships build bridges. Nothing that exists gets lost. It only needs to be placed together in a new way. This world is in deep need of new architecture assembled from our own inner healing flames of love and the desire to make it one peaceful paradise for everyone. We are created from love and our natural being is love. Let’s let our true selves shine. The change is already happening. Let’s not get discouraged by any seeming setbacks. Let’s take each other by the hand, follow the light our hearts shine and we can never fail.
In Love and Light

Yes, nobody can know better than you why you do or don’t do something. No one is entitled to tell you what is best for you or best in general.
I love that song. It accompanied me through lots of difficult times.
Thank you very much for your great comment.

Yes, we know ourselves better than anyone ever could. We can listen to suggestions an opinions but not be told what to do. Great song!

There is no such thing as failure when trying to do something. The worst case scenario is an opportunity to learn what went wrong… and learning something new is always good! The only failure is if you do not try at all.
Be sad for those who reach their senior years and look back and think … I wonder if I ever could have …………? I wonder if I should have ………? Why didn’t I …… when I had the chance?
Be sad for those in their senior years who can only reflect on dreams that were never chased …. on interests that were never pursued … on challenges that were never confronted.
The only guarantee any of us has about life … is that one day it will end. It makes no sense whatsoever to procrastinate over anything. It is also worth stressing that if you want the moon …. aim for the stars, because if you fall short … you might still get the moon!
In a similar context, I used to use a business rule of once a decision is made … give it 110%. If the decision was flawed, you might just get something good out of it. If the decision was mediocre, you might just turn it into a really good outcome but, if the decision was good one, the 110% may just turn it into an amazing outcome.

I agree fully with all you said here, Colin. I promised to myself that I don’t ever want to belong to those seniors. Perhaps we may not do everything that we could have done because it wasn’t important enough and appears more meaningful when we get later. But if we are aware then we should give it all. There is a quote by Mark Twain: “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” So we should find out because of what we tried. As you said, at least we should try and the worst that can happen is being left with an insightful experience!

It really is a Win/Win situation isn’t it! More people should try it! Isn’t there a saying something about even a tortoise has to stick its neck out if it wants to move forward??? 🙂

Haha, I don’t know that saying but it sounds good 😄 Yes, life is for living and developing… if we don’t take every chance to do so we miss the meaning of life!

Exactly … and who really wants to miss out on their own life?

Love your paragraph where you said ‘Never let anyone tell you that you failed’
I learnt that a long while ago when I thought I had taken a step backwards in life, as my breakdown separated me from family, work and friends along with my spiritual work at the time..
But that period was the greatest learning curve that gave me deeper understanding within myself and for others going through similar depression and turmoil..
So when we think we are stuck, or have a writer’s block, or whatever it is we feel we are lacking. It’s not failing, it’s just taking a pause, a time for self, and to reflect deeper within as to what it is this lesson is teaching us.
I am a big believer of following that Inner Compass, it’s there for a reason to guide us to what it is we need to grow through the experiences given.
And I love how you say we rebuild our broken dreams into something new.
Indeed those same building block, those stones we tore down now is the time to create our new castles..
All it takes is to place them one at a time cemented by our love for each other..
Beautiful piece of wisdom Erika..
Love and Blessings for a Beautiful week ❤ 💖🙏💗💖
