Vienna – Danube Park

Our first day was really beautiful and the weather was gorgeous! My sister’s new house is located at the edge of Danube Park. In that park is one of the famous landmarks of Vienna: The Danube Tower

This is the view right from my sister’s house.

After a long breakfast, we walked through the park and also passed the tower. That tower is the tallest building in Vienna with 252 meters. Here some pics of park and tower:

After our walk through the park, we went to a little river which is called the Old Danube. That is a branch of the river Danube which is quieter. There we rented a boat and drove around for a bit:

It has been a lovely day and in 1 1/2 hours, we are having a barbecue at my sister’s 😁

Thank you, Irene! We really enjoy being here and together with them. And the area is just so beautiful. We all had never thought that she would end up at such a beautiful part of the city!

There are many like this around here but that style is also very popular where I live and actually basically in Central Europe! Oh yes, it is green at this part of the city. It is more in the recreation zone. Of course there are other parts too which look like a real city. So she was really lucky with this place.

My sister asked me if that was really interesting for anyone to see that house. And I said yes, because it is different for many and that it is what makes blogging so exciting, that we can share all parts of the world with each other. You must proved that again, Lisa! 😊

Yes, I thought so too. There was nothing around 50 years ago but mud. An amazing development! Glad you liked it, Van! Tomorrow I will go to a shopping mall and a theatre with my sister’s sons since she is busy. So there won’t be pics, but perhaps on Saturday 😊

Thank you, Sis! It really is. They have even more attractions in that park like, trampolines, playgrounds, a tennis court, a train who drives around the whole area… it is really lovely. I am glad you enjoyed the pics.We had to stop several times on the boat tour and my sister removed the alga from the propeller… lol!

Thank you, Joy! Yes, we do have a wonderful time together. It is my first time after 4 years to be here again and I finally see my sister’s house. It is really beautiful where she lives and how she planned the house and everything inside! She did great!

Oh, it’s all soooo gorgeous!! I dreeeeaaam of going to Vienna! But at Christmas time! 🎅🏼☃🎄. I read so many Eva Ibbotson books about Vienna at Christmas time, I became completely enamored! 💖💖😊

Oh, it is beautiful and so romantic around Christmas! I loved to go to all the Chrismas markets. It has a special flair for sure! Perhaps one day you will experience it yourself 💖

I can well imagine the emotions. We came to Canada in 1975 when Melanie was 4. Her and I went back to England for a holiday in 1986 and we had the greatest time together!
