This post is the last Monday post before Christmas. It would be obvious to talk about remembering the true meaning of Christmas or to relate to the current situation. But instantly there was one single word in my head: Enjoy!
Don’t we all need something that makes us look upwards and forward? Something that makes this Christmas beautiful when even different? Don’t we simply want to enjoy it?
That’s all we need! Enjoy! When you choose to enjoy, automatically you become creative, you may break out of traditions or adjust them, or you even create new ones. Maybe you will even create something you will want to make part of every coming Christmas. These times are teaching us to break with stereotypes and to find ways to show and feel love regardless of the circumstances. The tool is to enjoy. In our joy, we see much clearer that love, even togetherness, is not necessarily bound to physical presence. Love cannot be restricted or kept behind borders. It is not limited to 5 or 10 people. Yes, it is infectious, but in a healing way.
Find ways to enjoy this Christmas time, and you will open the gate to a new depth of togetherness. A togetherness that may even create new traditions since we realize what matters AND how we can always find ways. Let’s make this Christmas a very special one because one thing may be sure: It may be the only Christmas like this. Make it memorable!
Of course, for many people, the situation around the holidays is a difficult one generally. It may need more effort and will to prepare a joyful atmosphere to surround yourself with. But if I never try it seriously and am determined, if I never make steps to get there, I will never have the slightest chance to arrive. Joy is an aspect of who we are, and on Christmas, we are reminded of who we are and to live our true nature of joy and love. Since we are called to share love with others, we need to let that love grow inside of us first to give it away. Or vice versa: Make it your goal to make others feel loved, and automatically, the love inside of you will expand joyfully. No matter which way, when you focus on joy you will feel joy. Who tells us to be sad or to feel isolated? Like all of our feelings, they are a consequence of the decision to feel how we want to feel. Don’t let any circumstances control your inner fundament of joy. You deserve it as everybody does. Embrace yourself. You are loved.
Decide to enjoy – now and any day –
and everything else will fall into place.
Where there is love, there is a will.
And where there is a will, there is a way.

In 2014, I published an e-book called Enjoy Life!. It contains a collection of 24 poems referring to a variety of situations we might face during our lives and how to develop a strengthening perspective from them. Click here to get it on Amazon.

Thank you very much, Sylvester. It is so important to keep our inner joy alive. It helps to keep our immune system strong too. What you said reminds me of Wayne Dyer’s quote: It is either a “good God, morning” or “Good morning, God”. Thank you so much and I wish you and your family the same, dear friend!

You have to remember that there isn’t always a perfect time for everything. Sometimes you have to make that time happen by yourself! ❤

I think it is so important to see that it is only temporary and we must not lose our joy over these times but instead joy helps us to make it over them much better.
