Bregenz Forest Area

It is Monday, and there is supposed to be an inspirational Monday post on my blog. Sorry, but I couldn’t make it. And I don’t want to sugar coat it – I might not have the peace and time for writing and scheduling my usual posts until the end of the month. Instead, I will share some impressions from our weekend at the Bregenz Forest, a week ago. For the coming three weeks, I will try to get to you as much as possible and post some inspirational thoughts. But now, enjoy the trip!

We spent two days at a spa in Bezau, Austria. It is only a one hour drive from hour home and ideal for a quick time-out. The weather was horrible when we left, heavily pouring rain all the way. Sometimes the wipers could barely handle the amount of water. And on top of it all, it even started snowing in between the rain. We headed into the hotel, got settled, and ate some lunch, and all of a sudden, the clouds disappeared, and we had blue sky and sunshine for the rest of the day. Here we go with some photos of the village.

The next day started cold, cloudy, and rainy again. But we did not care since we had booked some treatments on which I was soooooo very much looking forward to it. After we were done and went back to our room, the sun was out, and again, we had gorgeous weather for the rest of the day. We went to a ropeway that took us up to the Baumgarten Alm (altitude 1711 m/5614 feet). It is not that high, but the panorama was breathtaking. We had a fantastic look towards Lake Constance. That way, we could look over Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. But take a look for yourself:

After we returned to the valley station, we took a route back to the hotel that led us along a beautiful little brook. What amazed me was the different faces that brook has over its way through the village. Mostly it was quietly accompanying us, and sometimes it almost became a creek and got loud and wild:

Thank you for joining me on on the memories of this lovely weekend trip. Have a good start to your week and take good care!

I don’t think so. At least, I cannot remember a to have seen signs of a mill. That house was simply built close to the little stream. It looks very romantic, doesn’t it?
