Today, I would like to share another spot in my garden: The front yard. Also here, I took pictures from spring (unfortunately I missed to take more pictures then) on in order to show the several plants over the months and the different faces of the place. So, don’t be confused.
My front yard has two to three sections, depending on how you look at it. Here is the little spot below the entrance and next to the garage.
Next is the left side of the walkway.
Not to forget my hazel bush! We have this bush for about 18 years, but only last year I noticed it dropping a lot of nuts. This year will be even more as it looks. The bush is beautifully blooming in January. It was already about to die, and we planned on removing it. But when we removed a plant next to it, the bush seemed to have found new life.
And here is the third part of my front yard.
We set up this part of the garden new like actually every part of the garden. So, the flowers and plants still have room around them to grow and unfold. However, each month something new is showing up or begins to blossom. It is a joy to watch. I hope you liked the trip to this little part of my garden.

Wow! Will you wrap in, and send to me, Erika? 😉 You really have the in German so called “green thumb”. Think in future i will need you for creating such a wonderful garden area too. Enjoy your evening, and sorry for my delay. Michael

Thank you, Michael. I don’t know, if I am having that “green thumb” (not everything works out unfortunately) but I love each little plant and each little sprout and petal makes my heart smile. Maybe that supports the blossom and growth.

I will say it again. You live in paradise. Just love what you are doing to the garden. Do you always cut the lawn. Often you see the gardens in Switzerland let to grow much longer than the do here in England.

I used to cut once a week. But when I started my second job there was not enough time anymore and we installed a robot (if you say it that way in English too). Over here people are making an effort to keep their lawns short actually!

I love your garden, the flowers and plants are magnificent. I feel like I had an intimate walking tour of your environment and now seeing it know how much inspiration you draw from it. Beautiful Erika, simply beautiful 💖

You are so right, my garden turns out like my heart is trying to expand its joy with all different kinds of plants and colors. I love the variety and that there are spots where they can simply grow and others which are more organized. I am happy you liked this. Next week there’s coming up more…😊

Delightful! I have always wanted a hazelnut bush and never knew anyone, until now, who had one. Way cool!!

Hehe, I was surprised when I saw that the bush is growing nuts… after 15 years… lol! It really is cool. And it makes enough nuts for a few cakes… lol

For a front-yard, it’s spectacular, Erika. So many different types of plants. Were they all planted by you or have some of them appeared because wildlife has dropped seeds? Are the hazelnuts eatable? We had some blueberries in our garden this year, but the wildlife got to most of them before I could. I don’t mind that, though.
The last but one photo in the last slideshow is my favourite. Against the blue sky, those colours are amazing.

It made me smile that you like it so much. It is a lot of work but a work I love doing and which fills my heart wit so much joy. All the flowes you can see were planted by me, except the hazelnut bush. We let that one (and other plants which are not there anymore) plant by a gardener. The wildlife plants (or weeds) are there too like dandelion or horsetail (which is taking over with highspeed).
Yes, you can eat the hazelnuts. I made a cake from last year’s reap a few months ago. I only started to drop nuts two years ago.
I had to add that photo from the lilac tree. It is gorgeous, isn’t it?

In the bottom slides there is even some tiny white flowers that have escaped into the lawn (daisies?). They are beginning to take over…do I detect ‘The Day Of The Triffids’ happening? 😂 🤣
And the first shot in the centre slides there is a huge white flower in the middle of the garden towering over the rest…another take over? 😂 🤣
But a very lovely garden none the less, it has much color and love in it dear lady 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Oh, yes, we have a lot those and other little flowers in the lawn. You cannot help it when you are surrounded by farm land. But I don’t mind it anymore. Oh, now I know what you mean with the huge white flower… lol! This one was planted recently… lol!
Thank you, Mark. I am pleased you like it 😊more to come next week!

My flower spots have grown a lot. We started with only plain green grass when we moved in 19 years ago.
