I read the quote above and thought that I had been one of those waiting for far too long, believing things would just change in my favor. Whether it was out of fear, feeling overwhelmed by the process, or the feeling of not being capable enough, it was a convenient excuse to claim I “couldn’t” deal with something as long as the circumstances didn’t change. Thank God I realized that “life” doesn’t work that way.
For far too long, I let myself be intimidated and pushed around in a manipulative and controlling way. When I realized that I have had the power at any time to initiate change – simply because I want to – everything changed. I lost my fear of tackling new things, even if I’d never done them before, regardless of criticism, and turned my life around 180°.
Looking back, I’ve observed both myself and others. My observation was always the same: If you wait for circumstances to change, you’ll be at the mercy of those circumstances your whole life—but nothing will change the way you want it to. That’s just a convenient excuse for doing nothing. I’ve watched people who wanted to change their situation but didn’t take any active steps toward that direction. Some were dissatisfied with their jobs, but instead of furthering their education or learning something new, they thought things would work out if they were meant to—without preparing for it. Others were unhappy in their relationships, but instead of calling it quits, they waited until things happened that only made that step much more difficult.
Opportunities and chances present themselves despite the existing circumstances. They are signs that the universe is responding to your radiated desires and dreams. These opportunities are the springboard out of the given circumstances. But you are called to take action now to support the conditions to adjust. If you don’t see that (or don’t want to see it), the circumstances won’t change in your favor or get worse, and the opportunities will go unused.
Actually, that is not only a thought, but, as I said, an observation over decades. We get chances… but we need to make the effort and go with the changes they afford. Opportunities will always arise. Take them or leave them – but don’t blame the circumstances.

I learned a very long time ago that waiting for the perfect moment seldom makes the situation perfect. Take a leap of faith and celebrate small victories. 🌟✨💫

I agree, it can make a situation only more complicated and more difficult to initiate a change. But as we are, sometimes we need a lot of pressure until we start to move… 💖

That’s so true, Annette! Once we are aware of the many miracles that make our lives, we begin to see the blessing in the smallest one.

It’s all about accountability. Taking account for your actions/nonaction. Definitely not pointing a finger to the circumstances without being naive.
Have a great week, ahead, Erika!

That’s right! If chances pass by, it wasn’t the circumstances. It doesn’t matter whether it was the non-action for fear, for not wanting to leave the comfort zone, or for simply thinking things will fall into place by themselves without changing anything in one’s life. It would be truly naive and immature to not see one’s own responsibility in this.
Thank you, and you have a great one too!

Erika, I love this quote and theme. We too often settle for things rather than act to make things better. We must be fair to ourselves, our partners, our employers, our friends and relatives. Be present. If things are not going well, either find ways to make them better or change the paradigm. Relationships are hard work. You get out what you put in. You deserve to be treated well. Keith

Wonderful thoughts and I couldn’t agree more, Keith! Just today my boss and I were discussing this since an acquaintance of his had died. We said, we never know when our time comes. Therefore, it is not about reaching a goal but going for it. That is where the adventure lies. It does not matter the circumstances or what life throws at us. It is what we make of what we have and that we stay true to ourselves and don’t live other people’s lives.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Keith. They appear important to be shared.

This is why waiting for the “perfect time” doesn’t bring good results, because it’s an overwhelming process. We better live an extraordinary life today, even if time isn’t perfect. Great quote, Erika 👍

You said that well, Aptivi. It is overwhelming, since we make us depend on “how the wind blows”. We need to stand up and decide to be the wind of change.

Exactly, Erika 👍 We, indeed, need to be the wind of change.
Have a wonderful day! ☺️

The urge to help people was always there Erika, it just needed me to step into it. And as soon as I did those circumstances around me changed accordingly. Even the ones that didn’t seem to work…showed me something positive…I needed to change direction. So I fine tuned listening with my heart.
Great post kind lady, those building blocks of which you speak are exactly the wisdom needed to choose of what your heart speaks and daring that path. Thank you 🤗❤️🙏

And that is what many don’t understand. They are the changer of their circumstances. They cannot help but adjust to the changes we initiate. I love your example. Regardless, how things are now, we can make a whole new start in any given moment. Yes, it affords effort, and we don’t know how everything will turn out on the long run. But if we never even try, we will never see a glimmer of what we would love to do or who we would love to become.
I am glad you pursued your dream actively, Mark, and since it came from a deep place in your heart, it was so fulfilling 💖

Yes it was a very profound moment when ‘I tried’ what I felt within me. To touch another’s heart and assist in a journey with what I had found in that gift. Something inside us all, even if we are a mechanic, gardener or solicitor. It always touches us, a part of us, and all those circumstances of which you speak shows us ‘us’, within that part of us to fine tune that opening and acceptance of that love. Great post kind lady, from a heart opened 🤗❤️🙏

Right, it doesn’t matter what we do. If we do it with our hearts, it gains a special quality that makes everything a person does special 💖
