About three months ago, I deleted my Twitter/X account due to the behavior of the X owner. I don’t want to support his attitude, not even passive. Instead, I set up an account on BlueSky a couple of weeks ago. Please leave your handle in the comments for those of you who are on BlueSky. I’d love to follow you.
However, this was my first post:
What you don’t want
Try to ignore
Don’t be against it
Find something to be for
Don’t feed unwanted
With your energy
But go for your virtues
Whole-heartedly
Cease to fight
Rather turn on the light
I wrote it according to the current political situation in the US. Whatever we give our attention, we feed. We provide energy and feed the object of our attention. Whether we want or don’t want that object of attention doesn’t make any difference. Therefore, feeding something we don’t even like is less beneficial. As long as we turn to the unwanted, things won’t get better.
I cannot and don’t want to ignore what is going on in the States since I am listening to or watching the news. Furthermore, I have to watch and follow associated regulatory developments due to my employed job. Also, the plans of a particular person possibly affects the EU in several ways. But that is enough for me and I decided to stay away from political and fired-up discussions or rants on social media (which is not easy anyway – I am hardly finding accounts on BlueSky that do not hit you with political posts). Instead, I will do my best to feed the good.
I won’t give a particular person the attention he so desperately seeks.
I know which wolf I don’t want to feed.

I have reblogged this on BlueSky. Let me find the name of my account. 😉 It’s a bit horrible that all over political postings swirling through the web. Let’s make the best out of it. Thanks for the great advice. Best wishes, Michael

It is tiring, isn’t it? And unconsciously we dig only deeper into a matter we don’t even want. Yes, let me know your handle, I’d love to follow you and thanks for sharing the post on BlueSky, Michael!

It’s great to see you on BlueSky, Erika. As you know, I deleted my X account on New Year’s Eve. I can’t tell you how much better I felt in doing it. But I did shake my head in disbelief that it took me so long to delete it.
I agree that BlueSky is political, but you just have to avoid those posts as best you can and engage with those who post about stuff that interests you. I’ve also set up certain words on my BlueSky account that block any posts that show those words. It’s easy to do and I was amazed how easy it worked.
And for anyone intrested in following me on BlueSky, my profile name is https://bsky.app/profile/hughsviewsandnews.com

Haha, same over here! Once I deleted my X account I felt so good about it and also I thought why I did not do it sooner. Thanks to you, I learned about BlueSky.
Actually there are some nice accounts but currently filled with politics. I will go and check right away about the option of leaving some words that are banning posts I don’t want. I might have seen it but was so busy building up my account that I forgot about it later. So, thanks for that hint, too, Hugh!
