When I had this quote by Eckhart Tolle on my mind, I was pretty sure I had written a post about it already. But since I could not find it, I wrote a new one with my current thoughts, which even took me a step further.
Nothing lasts forever… we all know, but when our world turns upside down, it is hard to hang on to that thought. However, change is an inevitable part of our lives, and in the end, it only helps us to surface from it strengthened and wiser than before. Change can force us to work things out in ourselves, to take a step we avoided as long as we could, to overcome fears, or to discover a potential we had never thought was lingering inside. How relieved are we when situations relax, when health is back, when life becomes “normal” again, or when we feel the ground beneath our feet? Change is inevitable, but it is temporary until the circumstances rearrange. When we solve a problem, how wise and full of self-esteem do we feel? How smart and how superior compared to the rest of the world? Oh, what a feeling… which, too, will pass😄
While thinking about this all, something essential came to my mind. Is it the moment that passes? Can a moment pass? Because we learned that it is always NOW! So, NOW can never pass, actually, right? I concluded that not the moment passes but the appearance of the moment. It is always THIS moment, but it can show different faces. This, again, makes it easier for me to accept the theory that time is an illusion. There is no past, no future – only THIS MOMENT! What we create now makes us provoke the moment to change its look. The only thing that disturbs this thought a bit is our agenda and the daily look into the mirror. We do age, which makes us hang on to the thought that time passes. But that only counts for any physical appearance. And even when our bodies die, we still exist. Also, here, it is only the form, the appearance, that changes. I can imagine that once I leave my body, I leave the imagination of time behind, too. I know there are tons of questions that begin to flutter around me. But they are all based on my physical life. Those who are meditating know that while meditating, you leave the mind (which is part of your physical existence) and align with your spirit. In that condition, you are one with everything. You let go of any attachment, and everything you feel is this moment. For the duration of the meditative state, the moment stands still.
There is another point I want to make here: If you find yourself worrying, then you think about something in the future. But the future does not exist, and neither does the past. Consciously concentrate on the present moment, on the NOW. Ask yourself what is wrong with this very moment. Nothing, right now, all is well. And that is all that matters. Of course, we are planning and organizing, but we need to do this with the awareness that what we plan for does not exist (yet). What exists is this moment only in which we are doing the planning. If worrying is attached to the future only, worrying is an unnecessary imagination that destroys us.

That song was played at a recent funeral Michael, it was exactly the type of song for who he was. It changed the whole ‘feeling’ of the service…smiles and even some laughter gave each and everyone there more strength and courage for the time. Thank you for the share kind sir 🤗🤣❤️🙏

I love it when such encouraging songs are played at funerals. The only songs I want to have played at my funeral one day.

I’m with you, Erika. I’ve always tell myself to stop worrying about things that are not in my control. All I am doing is wasting time by worrying about that problem. However, I do often think back to happy times whenever I feel down, which is very rare. It always seems to help.

I agree completely! Sometimes we need anything that lifts our mood and keeps us going. A thought of something beautiful in the past or something we are looking forward in the future can pull us out of that negative thought pudding.
