The Inner Concept Changes Everything

After I saw a Reel from Eckhart Tolle on Instagram, the quote above came to my mind again. I often think if only this or that would be different, I could relax. But in the next moment, I shake my head and think again that nothing will improve just because a particular situation is over. Maybe it will be short-term, but since it is my thinking that labels a situation as difficult or challenging, the challenge is always with me.

On that Instagram Reel, Edgar Tolle said: “The egoic part is wanting something. So, it comes not from a place of fullness but from neediness, from a sense of “not enough”.” It conditions everything and makes you depend on the quality of the circumstances. It wants to convince you that you are the victim and the one who needs to take responsibility. That’s why the point of “I feel relaxed because the circumstances are in my favor” will never last or not be there at all. Because if you have the attitude to make yourself depend on circumstances or even other people’s attitudes, that peace will never come.

Like I said last Monday, Life happens… The difference between living a life in peace and contentment or restlessness and discontentment depends not on the circumstances but on the inner concept of understanding that life will always happen. Once we accept that life is a string of (unexpected) changes, of lifting us or throwing us off our feet, the circumstances might not be different, but they are much better to handle. Because at the moment when we see life as something that happens instead of something we depend on, we don’t identify with the circumstances anymore and can lift ourselves above them. Less whining, less looking back, less complaining but standing up, dusting yourself off, looking at the horizon, and walking on.

As long as we make our inner world depend on the outer world we won’t find peace. Inner peace can only be generated within. Knowing that doesn’t mean that I am at peace all the time… but I have no excuse when I am not 😂

Life does indeed happen Erika, it asks us are we happy but ‘we’ ever seem to struggle with that line in the sand. Shifting it, raising it up, lowering it back down. The ‘we’ that is us ever asking us that question. And I truly admit that the only time I stopped was when I saw through my fear, finally understanding it…and let go. The peace was incredible, and I saw a lifetime of ‘on guard’ had kept it at bay.
But I have to be honest, that was the bulk of it…but…to this day there are bits and pieces that come visit still. I think maybe the design is built this way to ‘just’ make sure…we are sure…of the peace we find inside 😀❤️🙏

I agree, although I accepted that whatever happens, does happen for a reason and in a greater context that I may not understand (yet). But I am convinced there is this reason. However, accepting what happens still is a challenge in working through the change it brings. But I think that the awareness of the existence of a greater context helps to make it through a bit better. Life is a life-long teacher!

Another excellent insight Erika… Inner-standing that it is how we ourselves create from within that which we experience from without..
All is in constant motion, and it is how we each perceive and interact with any given emotional response to that outward experience….

It is not easy at times, for we see the constant turbulence of the outer-world.. Which we allow to affect our Inner world..
That quote by Marianne Williamson says it perfectly… Only when we can observe, from that inner-state of being in that peaceful place, will we then affect the outer, for our inner world is what creates the outer one..

Lovely to ready your wisdom Erika..
Sending Much love xx ❤

It is a long and repeating process to understand this. And even when we understand it with our minds, it still takes a while until it sinks deep enough to become a part of our conviction, our beliefsystem. We get tested on and on through the circumstances, and even when they push us down, we get a chance to understand again. Only when we separate from the identification with the circumstances can we be free to form them. And we become unafraid to live life with all our senses. As you said so perfectly, once we created that peaceful place within, the outer world cannot help it but adjust since the outer world is only a mirror of the inner world.
Thank you so much for adding your words of wisdom and deep inspiration, Sue. Have a great week 💖

No circumstance is permanent because there is constant change happening. We fulfill the purpose of that circumstance then move on. There will never be ideal conditions where we can say “I can relax now” as you say “life is a string of unexpected changes” We are equipped to adapt, learn, move forward and grow. Inspiring post for today and the week 🌞

Yes, that is what we need to learn: we are not here to pause but to develop. And we are granted to develop in a personally tailored way through the unconditional love that we are part of. It is so amazing to realize this. Thank you for your wonderful comment, Sylvester. Have a great week 🌞

We are in constant development, yes and there is no limit to our development, only the limits we place on ourselves. You’re welcome and thank you.. You have a great week too 🌞
