#JustAThought… Hope, Faith, and the Law of Attraction

Maybe some of you remember I shared a post: Hope – Motivation or Blockage? last month. The subject of “hope” still wanders through my mind, and I started to compare it with “faith”. When I looked at both words, I felt a huge gap between the two in their meaning.

As I wrote, hope can be a limiter regarding the approach. When I think of hope, it can be the last straw we hang on to or the dimmed spark we still feel in all the disasters we may find ourselves in. It keeps us moving while we feel deep desperation. And that is the tricky thing. If we have hope, we are not convinced but just hope. That means that my frequency has doubtful vibes. Also, hope can be used as a passive tool or even an excuse. We hope for better times but keep up the same attitudes and actions without the slightest step out of our comfort zone.

Let’s look at brother “faith”. Only writing the word already feels so powerful. Faith is the conviction that things will be well – no matter how they turn out. Faith keeps us standing tall even when we go through sad emotions. That is not contradictory. Faith has nothing to do with ignoring or suppressing what happened and what we feel. It actually says YES to what is and how we feel, but it also knows that this is only temporary. Also, with my active contribution, I can work out what happened and constructively work on my future. With faith in my heart, I tune into the frequency of solution.

The Law of Attraction is the philosophy that “like attracts like”. What I think, I feel. What I feel is the vibration I radiate. And what I radiate, I attract. The message of the LoA is that positive thoughts manifest positive experiences and vice versa. If there is one doubt left, the desired outcome is distorted. I like to mention my best friend, who believed in the LoA. He visited the Hicks/Abraham (The authors of The Law of Attraction) three times in their workshops. At that time, he went through a tough period and saw the LoA as his way out. But nothing changed… in fact, things got even more difficult. He said: “I don’t know what to do. I envision and envision like a mad man, but not even little signs of manifestation show up.” I said it’s because he doesn’t feel what he thinks. The thought stays in his mind, but he does not believe what he thinks. He is a very rational person and, first and foremost, trusts in what he knows or thinks he knows. Also, his impatience got in his way. He envisioned specific outcomes but did not leave room for the conditions to rearrange, while he only looked at a particular way of how something is supposed to manifest. Maybe he thought that from one moment to the next, everything changes. And changes even made him doubtful rather than seeing the potential of manifestation in them. I would say, he hoped. He strongly did, but hoped – with a big portion of desperation. You can be totally convinced with heart and mind during envisioning, and things may start to get in motion. But if this only happens for 10 minutes a day, it won’t work. You must remain in that conviction to keep the energy up that matches your desired outcome. The LoA always works. If you are thinking out of desperation you will attract more of it. If you are thinking out of positive expectation and joy, you will attract more of it. So, the LoA only works with faith but never with hope, when it shall lead to desired results.

I don’t say hope is contra-productive – as I said, it depends on the approach. We are barely in control of what happens around us. That’s why hope might be the first ray of light. So, by all the darkness around us, the little glow of hope can be what keeps our heads still above water. But maybe we need to activate everything in us and turn hope into faith to solidify the ground beneath our feet, look positively into the future, and take the present moment as our latter to climb upwards step by step. Simply let love and its unconditional clarity fill you and as a second step let the thoughts of your creation ride on that river of love to be carried into the universe.

At least, I think so… what do you think?

The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.

You did a fantastic job of distinguishing between the two words. Both words are powerful. The LOA is tricky. It’s most often the feeling of already having what you are trying to manifest that is missing in the equation. At least, it is for me. Thank you for this enlightening post, Erika!

Yes, same over here. The thougths are only half of the deal, we also need to believe what we think. But knowing that believing what we think creates the reality we want may make it a bit easier to trust in to this system of th LoA! Thank you very much, dear Jan. I am glad the post spoke to you!

I think it is as you said Erika, they are those steps to find us. Test those places inside and teach us to become that faith through hope and the courage to define them. We are creating something wonderful, in experiencing it all and in doing so believing in ourselves. Well written kind lady, daring to go beyond the ‘words’ to their meaning 😀❤️🙏

Oh, yes, it does. That’s a fantastic statement. I had not thought of this way around, but it makes complete sense. When faith and gratitude are the ground we walk on, hope will always be a healthy lantern that keeps us moving forward. Thank for sharing this, Annette!

I always look at hope as that spark that is always there to say “keep it up, keep going”. With faith, even if you don’t look at it from a biblical standpoint, it is an empowering word. Faith brings about a favorable result, even if it wasn’t the exact one you were hoping for. Faith says “It is possible” “It can be”.
Thanks for the thoughtful post and have yourself a faith filled week of possibilities coming to fruition.

That’s how I feel about both words for me too. Hope to me, is that ignition point that keeps me from resigning and develops and generates a faith when it comes to longterm situations. Thanks a lot for your definition, Sylvester. And thank you for your wishes, they come at the right time! Have a wonderful faithfilled week yourself!
