#PoeticTuesday – 69

Yesterday I shared a few things about my life with you. So, for today’s poem, I thought it was fitting to share the lyrics of the song I am currently working on. I spare you unnecessary text repetitions. I hope you like it.

It’s In You

When you think it has gone
The light of your sun
When you fear the voice of thunder
(then wonder – wonder)
Let the rain wash off your doubts
It clears your heart out
And the rainbow that you’ll see
Shines brightly
From you to me

Please, world leave me alone
Let me hide in my hole
I feel safe behind my wall
Don’t you understand me
‘though I want to be free
I am much too afraid to be me

Everyone has their stories
Their paths to be walked
Each one’s different each one is unique
I will stumble and fall
But stand up and stand tall
No one tells me who I am to be

When you fall on your knees
Know it won’t stay like this
You’ll get up
You’ll get strong
For your life
To move on

Don’t give up
You will see
It’s in you
To be free

It’s in you to be free

In Love and Light

The purpose of my blog is to inspire and shine a light on the beauty and power of the wonderful being inside your body. You came into this world to share what only you can give. Remember who you really are, conquer the world the way you always wanted to, and become the blessing to us all that you were meant to be.

Erika, this stanza stands out to me:

“Everyone has their stories
Their paths to be walked
Each one’s different each one is unique
I will stumble and fall
But stand up and stand tall
No one tells me who I am to be”

Stand up and stand tall. Amen.

Again, you sensed the heart of the song. That’s the part when the song turns from a lovely and compassionate tune into a rather energetic spiral upwards. I love that verse a lot since it generates so much power.

Yes, music, voice, and words… all from me… hehe. It is funny, sometimes I have a melody in mind and the words are just falling into place (like with this song). And then I have the lyrics and the sound wraps around them. Every song is an adventure.
It will still take a little, but I hope not too long anymore 😁

I’m jealous!!! I’m only allowed to sing in the shower … nowhere else! Even my car doesn’t allow me to sing … she sputters if I just belt out a few notes! I was born with a 65% hearing loss, and am now more than 90% deaf. One time when I was a young child, oh, probably 7 or 8 … my mother learned of a lady down the street who gave piano lessons, so she eagerly signed me up — I think she was hoping I had SOME talent! After the 2nd lesson, the piano teacher told her never to bring me back, that there was no hope for me! And there went my music career! I truly admire those who can, though! ♫

Oh, so that was a bit hard and disillusioning. I am sorry to hear that your hearing has already been limited as a child and that you even lost more. Of course, you learned to live with it. Still, it may be a challenge in your daily life. Are there senses that are extraordinary instead?

Hah! No, I’m afraid not! Despite two eye surgeries, one when I was 10 years old and another a few years ago, my vision is not good. Being Type I diabetic all my life, I have little feeling left in my feet and hands. And I think my sense of smell and taste have also diminished over the years! So, no compensatory extraordinary senses! But that’s okay … I wake up in the mornings and I’m still surviving! That is an accomplishment … I take what I can get!

You have a wonderful attitude and definitely lots of gratitude within you. Many other people in your situation would get bitter, depressed, or would withdraw from life. My mother-in-law was someone like that although she had a good life and despite some arthrosis she was in fantastic condition. You spread so much positivity and joy. Happiness and contentment is an inside job and you show that in a beautiful way 💖

People who are always feeling sorry for themselves are wasting their lives. One can ALWAYS find something positive if they just look around. And it has a domino effect … if you find one thing positive, then you’ll likely see another and another. And if that doesn’t work, one has only to look around at those who are far less fortunate. Thanks for your kind words, Erika … I do sometimes indulge in negativity, especially when it comes to the stupidity of some humans and our political situation, but on a personal level, I know I have much to be thankful for! ❤

Wonderful, and so true. Everyone has and will find the light. The own path for fullfilling all wishes. Thanks for sharing another very important poem, Erika! Best wishes, Michael

Thank you, Michael. I am happy the lyrics spoke to you. Let’s see how the song turns out in the end. It is still in progress…
I am sorry to hear that you are struggling again with the WP bug. I hope it disappears soon again!
