Enjoy Now!

Why do so many people have problems enjoying the moment they longed for only because that moment is determined to expire? I remember a homeopath I went to many years ago. It was the beginning of June, and summer unfolded its warmth and light as we love it. The weather was gorgeous that day. When I sat with her, I mentioned how much I enjoyed the season and how wonderful that it only began. With a frustrated face, she said: “And it is over so quickly.”

I think it is human that we want to hold on to the beautiful moments since we already experienced other ones too in life. There is so much anticipation for things we love to experience again or new beautiful things we planned on or dreamed of for a long time. But when we are so afraid of it passing again, we don’t even enjoy it when that moment is present. Because we already focus on a time past that moment and feel the melancholy or sadness we expect to feel when everything is over. That means we don’t live that moment but already imagine ourselves in a time that does not even exist. That way, the moment we so longed for was not even experienced which confirms the even stronger frustration later. I think this sounds understandable.

However, if we try to hold on to a particular moment or period for fear of losing it, we make ourselves spectators of the most beautiful moments. We need to become an actor from the very first moment. It starts when we look forward to the moment we want, or when we start planning an event or a meeting, and it culminates in the event itself. The cool thing is that when we are in the moment, that moment feels like it lasts forever because we become that moment and take it all in without distraction. What we experience becomes a deep memory and a part of ourselves. The amazing thing is that afterward, we are much less sad or frustrated when something is over but filled with the good energy we took in so intensely. If we are always “in the moment,” we will also always perceive with mindfulness and thus not be drained because we are not burdening ourselves with things that weaken the power of the moment. We realize even more that everything we have is one single moment that sparkles in the most diverse colors.

Our imagination can be such a great tool to draw the things and experiences into our lives that we want to. Our imagination supports our development in miraculous ways. We will always experience the feelings resulting from the thoughts we think. From there, we define the experiences we make. The crux of the matter is that this works with all kinds of imagination. What we can imagine we can and will be, and we have unlimited possibilities to choose from.

Hey, it is June, summer has just begun, and I am absorbing it with each fiber of my being.

Being in the moment makes us building up the joy in us.
We are the energy of the experience we make.
What experience do you want to make?

Make the most of the moment at hand. Create and do what brings you joy. The only moments that are lost are the ones we fill with anxiety and stress. Have a great week, Erika!

Exactly! That is a very good point. I think stress comes from not being in the moment because we feel like we need to be further or at a different place than we are. Thanks for the inspiration!

Your post is a very good reminder to live in the moment and enjoy life as much as possible. Also not let the down times bring us down. You’re dead on about stress and if we hold on to the belief that all will work out to our benefit then stress factor will dissipate quickly. You’re welcome and I thank you too!

I agree. If you are really in the moment, you will feel peace. Nothing can disturb that peace. Then you are the calm center of the storm.

Very wise words young lady, made me stop and ‘see’ what is always in front of me but I can be too busy to see it. Many a time I’ve been in the excitement of something and I want to take a photo…and completely miss the event and lose the experience of it ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Same over here, Mark 😄 Thank God, we can take digital pics meanwhile. I want to catch all of those unique moments but as you said, may miss to enjoy it at the same time. Sometimes, we need to let our hearts take a picture. It cannot be shown or shared but it will accompany us even more meaningfully. Thank you, Mark!
