After almost four years, it was yesterday again that I met a blogger friend of WordPress. Erika and I (this is not a mistake, we both are Erikas) have been following each other for about five years. After a while, we found out that we live almost around the corner from each other. So, yesterday we made it happen. It took me only 25 minutes to reach Erika Laufer of Lauferei.com in her beautiful Swiss village close to Lake Walen.
Although there was rain and cool temperatures in the forecast, we had the most beautiful weather when we walked up the path to the lovely rock chappel, which towers over the village. On the way down again, Erika led me to a picturesque Marian grotto.
I was so looking forward to meeting her. She is such a warm-hearted and modest person who is so in harmony with nature and aware of its greatness. That afternoon has given me so much energy. It was only then when I noticed how much in need I was for that boost.
Of course, I took some pictures from the little trip:
Thank you, Erika, for this wonderful afternoon. I am looking forward to many more meetings and maybe projects together.

It is always exciting and a beautiful experience to meet friends from WordPress with whom you already feel close. It is almost like meeting old friends 😊

I fully agree. So far, I had to travel by plane to meet other bloggers. It is just so cool that Erika and I are living so close.

That is a lovely area Erika. Green as far as the eye can see and so pleasant with the mountains in the background. Almost a postcard 😀
That grotto? has some meaning to the church. I take it the church is there for the grotto actually 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

The grotto is below the church in the rock, but at a different place. We walked about 15 minutes to get there. So, it is not in direct relation I think. However, it is a place of power which may be the connection link.
I am living on a little hill with a church and a grotto too. Also, it is a power place. But over here the church was definitely first.

Some of them do have interesting histories. Thank you, it is a lovely visit 😀

Oh, yes, they do have that and most of all they hold histories of centuries. I haven’t seen a sign on that church but may need to do some researches. I am happy you went along, Mark 😊

Erikas, can I meet you there? That looks lovely. I have had the pleasure to meet three blogging friends and it has been a treat. I had to cancel one trip because of a family illness, and my friend took a sudden turn later in the year and died. So, I think it is fabulous you got together. Note, one was visiting America from Australia and my wife and I met her about four hours away. Keith

Sure! Just tell me when, and I will make time. The area is beautiful indeed.
It is just so lovely to meet friends we have been knowing for so long through WP connection. I am happy you met a few too. (So sad why you had to cancel one meeting. I am very sorry to hear that). But how funny, that you just met one today. Awesome.
I was counting the bloggers I already met. It must be at least 17 I met planned. I toured a bit through the US in 2015 plus there was the Blogger Bash in London 5 years ago, where I met a lot bloggers I did not know before. I hope that will meet a lot more bloggers over time 😊

Erika, the Aussie we met was a few years ago, not today. We are venturing out more now that we both are vaccinated. Not yet ready to jump on a plane. I am glad you have met so many WP bloggers. It goes without saying, please feel free to stop by here if you find yourself in the states. My wife and I would love to see you. Keith

You can be assured that I would never miss the chance to meet you and your wife. I will definitely let you know whenever I am close by. I have no idea when I will head over the pond again (and maybe my first trip will go directly to California) but I take your invitation serious, thank you! It would be so much fun to meet you guys 😊

Erika, well I hope it works out. As empty nesters, we have plenty of room if you need a place to stay. Any other blogging friends in or near North Carolina? I know of a couple, but I don’t know if you know them. Keith

I don’t know yet, if there are more bloggers I know around that area but I see that I have to put the plan further up on my bucket list. Let’s see, perhaps I can tackle it in the next two years. Would be cool! Thank you, Keith!
