On the last day of the year, I took a walk through the forest above a part of the village I grew up. It was a very friendly day and mostly sunny. Enjoy some impressions 😊

Hehe, thanks! Yes, I do, Colin. It was not always like that when I was a teenager or young adult, but meanwhile I am very thankful that I can live here. It is nothing I take for granted.

The benefits of aging. The benefits of experiencing life. The benefits of learning what really is important, and the benefits of putting life lessons into practise and reaping the rewards! Have a wonderful afternoon and evening Erika. 🙂

Yes, exactly, Colin. About 10 to 12 years ago, I began to understand what this means. Thank you, Colin, and you enjoy your day too 😊

Erika, thanks for the walk about. I could hear the snow and ice crunching under your feet as you walked and see your breath in the cold air. Now, I need a cup of hot coffee. Keith

Hi, Trent! I am pleased that you like the area. I see that mountain chain daily. Just not right now, since they hide behind a thick wall of snow clouds… hehe. Happy New Year!

Such an odd sensation…young tree’s, young horses and even the village is young…but the land is so old. It’s like generations are there looking after everyone, a time honored love for the many that come after.
Great share Erika, it must be a warm feeling to share those paths 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

That village is a few hundred years “young”…hehe. It is stretched over about 3 – 4 miles. This is the one end of it. I grew up at the opposite end. There used to be a handful farmers spread all over the place centuries ago. The families still have land and that’s why mostly the generations are gathering their houses around their parental homes. You are right, the community is really there for each other. Something you find a lot in central Europe in villages.
Thank you for joining the little trip, Mark 😊

That must have been it then Erika, that generations of ‘family’ gave such a comforting feeling. Like everyone is a big family and cared for regardless of ‘where’ they are in life. Beautiful! Thank you for that ‘journey’, it gave a great understanding of your heritage in its land and heart, thank you! 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

That’s right but this also has its challenges for people from outside. Meanwhile, the attitude has changed since many “strangers” have settled there. But when we moved there it was not easy for us as foreigners to be accepted. It was healthy that people from elsewhere moved there too over the years.
I am happy that I could give you an idea of how it may be here😊 have a blessed day, Mark!
