First Snow

Last Saturday afternoon, it started to snow, and it snowed throughout Sunday. After no snow at all last season, I enjoyed it coming down again. I thought I’d share some photos of the landscape but also of our Christmas lights within the snow.

This is how it looked like on late Sunday morning. In the second picture, you can see that it’s still snowing.

The next pictures were taken in the early evening – still snowing.

And here we go with the Christmas lights. It is maybe half of what we did in the past, but still, it takes time to get that done. I would not go without outdoor lights during the holiday season.

It stopped snowing anytime during the night, and this is how it looked like on Monday morning.

On Thursday, we saw the first rays of the sun after many days of snow clouds and thick fog. The first picture below shows one of the views from our business center around noon. The fog just dissolved. It was a beautiful sight. The other two photos were taken in the afternoon at home, just before the sunset.

Let’s see if we will have some white Christmas once again.

Magnificent, Erika. We also do outside lights, although I’ve noticed that we do less and less both inside and out as the years go by. However, I still can not resist buying some new Christmas decorations every year. We had a little snow last weekend, but nothing like the snow you had. I hope it stays around to greet Christmas Day for you.

I hear you! Gosh, we used to have lights on all bushes and around the windows. But also over here we are doing less although we don’t want to go without them. Yes, also less decoration inside…. Everythgin has to be put away again, after Christmas… lol

Exactly, Erika. And I always do a tidy-up of the cupboard our Christmas decorations live in for most of the year when putting them away, and always tell myself to take those I no longer need to the charity shop. It’s something I always fail on when I tell myself ‘next Christmas, do it next Christmas, Hugh.’

I’ve just ordered 3 large storage boxes to put all the decorations in when they come down. Plus, there are some I haven’t put up this year. It’ll force me to declutter, and in the process, it’ll get rid of the 20 or so different sized cardboard boxes the decorations usually live in.
