My Little Paradise – #5

Here we go with the last visit to my little oasis. I began to replant this part of the garden this spring. Therefore some plants are only settling. Still everything is developing and most plants have grown even bigger than they look on the picture. Also here too, I took pictures between May and July to catch the flowers at their most beautiful stages. I leave you with a collection of impressions.

I was fighting these weeds in the middle of the picture like crazy in the whole garden last year. But not that much this year anymore. Because due to my studies, I learned about the value those plants have. The plant is called field horsetail and has a detoxifying, purifying and firming effect. The high proportion of silicic acid strengthens the connective tissue and helps to counteract brittle nails and hair. It is a very good remedy against cellulite. It can be used as a tea, in balms, creams, oils, and tinctures. So, I am still trying to keep it from taking over (which is not easy), but in particular places, I let it grow and reap it.

Thanks for visiting!

It depends on the weeds. I would not suggest doing it with any weed… lol
I am happy you liked it, Michael. Yes, it is a lot of work. But I love doing it and then it is not that bad 😊

Awh, thank you, Linda! I am so happy to see you here too and that you enjoyed visiting my place at least virtually. You were so lovely inviting me at your place and whenever you think of coming over one day, I would love to do the same for you!

So lovely Erika🌸🌱 I’ve always been fascinated by weeds too, the way they want to overtake everything and the uses you mentioned. I take deep breaths while I’m staring at your flowers, like I’m inhaling their beauty. Others have s a id here and I too agree, a little paradise, an oasis🙏

I see weeds with different eyes now. Most of them are healing plants. And around you there always grows what you might need the most. So, look at the plants growing in your surrounding and see what they want to tell you about your condition… lol

Lovely patch of paradise Ericka. Even your bumblebee is feeling at home. It’s probably his little spot of Pina Colada on a hammock swinging from a flower in the sunshine 😂 🤣
I must ask though, what is that lovely weeping bush with deep reddish color leaves, I’m in love it looks so beautiful and flowing in among the flowers 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Haha, yes, I made it an effort to plant flowers that attract insects like bees and bumblebees, butterflies…
I think you mean the japanese fan maple. It is a tree which doesn’t grow very big. It may still grow a little but perhaps only up to a third of what it is now. It is lovely, isn’t it 😊

I love it. Its flow, energetically and physically is quite amazing. Either it is very grounded or you come out to speak to it all the time and its almost human lol 😂 🤣
But it really does flow so beautifully. I’m wondering if I can grow one over here, I’ll have to do some research and check it out. Thank you for the introduction 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Its leaves look so delicate, so fine, and it feels so light. I had one for several years until about a year ago but for some reason it lost all leaves all of a sudden. Maybe a mouse or something enjoyed its roots…
Let me know how it works in case you plant one, Mark!

I just had a quick look and it appears to need a chill factor so that it goes into a hibernation, its a part of its growth cycle. As you lovely people over there have that amazing stuff called snow it fits right in. But over here I only hear rumors of snow and we are lucky to get below 12C in winter. We get the odd cold snap that takes us down to 6C or 8C but that doesn’t appear to be enough for a hibernation. Mind you, I have to get a nice woolly jacket on 😂 🤣
So it looks like I’ll have to admire it from afar. Maybe a lovely picture of one on my wall 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋
P.S. Um, that snow is that cold, wet, white stuff isn’t it? Silly people sliding, skiing, tobogganing, and just downright enjoying themselves like crazy? I’ll have to buy some and dump it in my front yard. I wonder how long it will last in our 36C in summer 😂 🤣

Haha, thanks for defining snow. “Thanks” to climate change we did not have any snow last year although we are used to huge amounts of snow periodically. Two years ago, the higher regions of the Alps got so much that there were high avalanche alerts for weeks and ski regions were closed for weeks. Also we can have temps down to -20C periodically. Also, last year we barely went below zero. We do have a warm storm too, called Föhn. It often caused us temps upt 15 or 20 degrees in December for a day. So, we have it all😄

Oh my word, that’s not cold that’s Arctic weather. You must have penguins and polar bears wandering the streets, 6 months of darkness and have to dig your doorways out of ice to go shopping for sure 😂 🤣
And avalanches! The slightest rumble has you on guard all winter ready to dive into a safe bunker. I’m never complaining about a tepid 12C again 😂 🤣
You do have it all, spoiled for choice. And if I can help we have a quite a few 40C days here we can give away free or even for a few drops of snow and a little Arctic breeze would be nice 😂 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

LOL… we had only few winters like this. As I said, it can vary extremely. That can be a big problem for elder people.
Yes, we do have it all. We also had summers close to 40 C too. Usually the summer temps vary between 25 C and 35 C during a normal summer. I love this!!
Believe me, if I could I would love to share the cold … lol

Exactly! And I now that I look differently at it, I don’t see any weeds anymore… only plants which I don’t want to be growing at some specific spots… lol
