A virus teaches
People to slow down and breathe
Nature gets a break
A virus changes all
Losing people, money, time
Daily exhaustion
While everything is slowing down around the globe, some of us are called to give everything these days, may it be nurses, doctors, people who are working in grocery stores, journalists, policemen, border control, and logisticians, … Some fear for their financial existence, for everything they built up in their lives, what they put all their heart in.
Some of us experience the opposite. Less stress and hectic, more time for themselves, more time to breathe, more time to relax, more time to enjoy the beautiful spring weather, and time to reflect. Mother Earth is taking a deep breath these days too.
However, I could imagine that after the crisis is over, something in the way we live and how we look at our planet and our fellow men may have changed. To look at it from a higher perspective, the world may have needed it. Haven’t we all talked about something that will happen to raise our awareness? It is not a war, nor is it a gigantic natural disaster. If we look a bit closer, we should be thankful because it could have been something way worse to raise our awareness.

A time of transformation. Many need to learn to deal with themselves and many find new ways of being active. We are not distracted that much anymore and “old” problems may surface again. A time of renewal all over and so indivicually and personally.
It is healing for me that I am given so much time now. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish for such things to happen but now that the situation is what it is, I feel the given time like a huge gift and I am blossoming completely.
Haha, my hair too, in all colors. But I don’t really matter. We are all the same these days… haha!
Lots of love and huge virtual hugs, dear Amy 💖

I agree with you, Erika. Something had to have happened to get the world at large to slow down and in some aspects, stop. The pace has been that of frenzy, go go go, and to have that stop is to me a huge breath of relief! My life has not changed much, so to speak, other then not able to go to the gym and get my hair done. I’m figuring out how to handle these things by actively changing my routine. There is going to be ton of people with bad hair days soon fyi. How will we still feed about ourselves? Will our confidence level drop? Or are we going to learn to apply all that we have learned (those of us who have) and despite the changes we refuse to allow anything outside of ourselves to bring us down. I know for a fact when I go for my walks, people seem more eager now to talk. It’s time to throw out me me me, and embrace us us us.
And this I say to you. I have a sister who I know is having meltdown after meltdown because her whole world was based on CONTROL. Now that she is no longer in control I know she is spinning in the void. She even will not speak to me and it is in her silences that speak louder then words ever could. To put on a “good face” all the time she no longer is able to do. She is hiding. And more importantly I’m finding out just how important I “was” to her. I’m in the process of forgiving and letting go ….. From here on out, only honest, heart-centered people will be in my inner circle.
LOVED this post, dear friend!! Keep your light shining!!! xo

I really hope from the bottom of my heart to learn and to apply the insights we gained from this crisis. People are the most important – real people, togetherness, union, family, friends – real social life. Who knows, maybe over time your sister will be able to let go of her necessity to control. Maybe this will help her to relax about this.
I find it amazingly relaxing. I have not been that relaxed for years. I get all of those things done which have been waiting and were squeezed in piece by piece wherever possible. But all in hectic and with a tight schedule… gosh, how relaxing this is now.
I was laughing, yes, we all might learn too to accept each other for the being we are and not for our hairdress, fingernails, cosmetic-treatments… lol!
Have a blessed day and weekend, Amy 💖

I hope the same thing, Erika. In times like these, no one really knows how he or she will act. I’ve already seen shocking behavior which makes me ask if I was in that position, what would I have done?
My sister …. I’m letting go. She did this to me when my Father was dying. She refused to talk to me then, deliberately shutting me out. I will not do this again. This hurts, and this goes deep. Yet, I know in my heart when the chips are down and solidarity is required the most, I cannot depend on her.
This is new for you, dear friend. I know what it’s like to crawl the walls because I have nowhere to go. The gym and my few outlets were all I had. Now I have nothing but the parks and the weather is still iffy. I’ve been cleaning like a madwoman the past few days readying for the days I can be outside and stay out there. I’m even thinking of going through all my clothes and shoes in my closet, organize and clean that, IF the weather remains chilly.
Anyways …. hair! I have headbands that I will wear when my dark roots start coming in. Just take my word for it, the colors are like black and white. I’m sure those who have the means will have their hair stylists come to their homes. I’m not one of them. I’ll make due with what I have. As for cosmetic treatments, those went out the window a long time ago when I began taking care of all these babies. My hair was my only vice. sigh This too shall pass. LOL

You are right, maybe now that we have to keep a social distance we see how important it is to be together and to be social in real life!

Spot on Erika. I had to visit to read your wonderful thoughts. The link on my post about the virus is saying similar, it’s about how each of us react. I’m seeing some beautiful positive energy right now. With others thinking of others and .wand of helping.
May we all immerge, more than we were before and stronger with in because of it.
Sending you love and blessings Erika take care, our love and lights are needed more than ever.
I’m staying in my light love bubble 🙂🌱🌷🌺 strengthening my solar plexus. No coincidence this escalation in the third month, the third chakra.
It took a energy emotional hit recently. So I will be back once I’m centred.

Again, similar thoughts shared at the same time… Wonderful!
Yes, indeed, I feel the change and I feel the cleansing energy the virus brings along. A dramatic change in our ways of thinking and in our ways of how we look at life and at each othere… and at ourselves and our purpose here.
I haven’t thought of the link between the month and the chakra before. This is an amazing thought. The relaxing aspect it brings along, calming the whole system (in general, economical, and personal, individual).
Recover well and I am looking forward to what you are taking along and will be sharing with us once you are back.
Love and light to you, my dear friend 💖

I couldn’t agree more with you, Erika!
This pandemic is certainly such a phenomenal event of our lifetime. It will definitely shake up the whole meaning of what we consider of our own selves, what we are capable of and what we should be the utmost importance to us in the first place.
Stay safe 🙂

You summed that up so well, Hammad. Yes, that is how I think about too. We may be all in separation now but may it show us how important it is to be social… really social!
Thank you and stay safe too, Hammad!

I find it appropriate to ask, what we can and may learn by this situation, Erika.
When something happens, as we have no control about, we need to accept the situation and find out, how to go on with our lives.
Let us continue to send healing and light to our world, as now gets a chance to heal too.
Much love to you ❤

Exactly, such an exceptional situation makes people find new or other ways to live. We see that the economy breaks down when something like this happens. We are too depending. I remember a good old friend saying that one day money will be useless and we will find other ways to exchange values. Maybe this is one of the situations that provoke such new approaches. Also life got more and more hectic, faster, more, better… Now, we are forced to slow down. And to tell it from my perspective, I have not felt that relaxed for years.
As you said, let’s send out as much love as possible to those who need it the most. Let’s share good energy in order to strengthen. This is one thing the world may remember: Being there for each other, togetherness, support, selflessness…maybe. However, hopefully this virus has a healing effect .
Thank you, Irene, and much love to you 💖

I hope, that more people will find new values and other ways of living. Stress can be healthy, but too much of it destroys souls.

Hopefully when this passes and it will, people will be more conscious of the environment, of each other and life itself. Most crises bring about that kumbaya moment where everyone comes together to support and help one another. At the onset of Corona it brought with it confusion and mass hysteria. This is truly moment by moment, day by day situation because because they haven’t gotten a real handle on it yet. We need reliable source information and not information overload. In the end, the world will be alright. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Erika. Peace and blessings always.

Yes, that is a good point. It teaches us to be more in the moment and not only live in our agendas and run after each and every possible deal.
I believe so too. When this madness is over and people bethink again of what really matters in life. We might have done the first big and crucial step towards a healed world and planet.
Peace and blessings to you too, Sylvester. Thank you!

Given our diversity and, sadly, the discrimination, antagonism and non-acceptance of those who are “different” ,,,, it would appear that COVID-19 will serve a purpose. If you want to see a diverse group of people come together with a common goal …. threaten the group. There are many examples in our history where the most unlikely of cultural mixes have worked together, the catalyst being a common enemy.
Most of the world would appear to be now acknowledging the potential seriousness of COVID-19. Given that much data is now being shared, as are strategies to control the spread of this virus, those that survive COVID-19 may well have a very different perspective on our world.
Based on what we are hearing here (Canada) regarding all the services and businesses shutting down, some of which may not reopen, and based on the huge costs being incurred by governments to try and support the commercial sector; to assist individuals whose income has stopped, as well as to accommodate the increased demands on our healthcare system, I would suggest that when our fight with COVID-19 is ended, our world will be a very different place. This, I believe, will be good for everybody. We will have little choice but to totally reassess our values and our priorities.

Yes, the consequences are more than dramatic and it throws everybody out of their familiar way of living. The economic impact is still unpredictable. As you said, there is compassion and support but also a big kind of an I-first attitude which may result in very nasty disputes. But later, and I believe this whole-heartedly, the values will have changed dramatically. I could imaging that this global wave will teach us that we need each other. It feels like a cleaning fire for the minds. Yes, a different place will be left to rebuild our values and virtues.
Thank you, Colin!

So true! Thank you for the motivation, Erika! Have a beautiful evening. Just listened to the speech of our chancellor. Sounded similar to US-presidential speech from the movie “Independence Day”. Its all a little bit surreal.

It will move us indeed Erika. Our everyday thoughts are no longer so blase, a shift has occurred and at last an appreciation has touched many within. We will no longer hold so many meaningless thoughts simply because our lives have now been moved and asked us to step out from under them. This emotional confrontation will allow us to see us…and the vagaries of men, so that we will look and ask ourselves what truly do we believe…or…want to believe.
It is only when we face our fears does our belief of ourselves become stronger, wiser and gifted with that inner love. But first the stumble and its aftermath so that this wiser love may be born. In this very subtle event it has shown great love and great fear. And at the least an appreciation of that difference will beckon us all 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

I am sure that the perspective will rise. We have one global situation and everybody gets thre from their own point of living which makes it so interesting. We will see, how much the perspectives will more align over the coming weeks or later. Also the economical consequences will hold their challenges for a long time.
May the wiser love be born, as you said it wonderfully, Mark 😊🙏
