Erika, this is a great quote. This is the longer version of “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”
Right now, many towns are reinventing themselves with a concept of ABCD investing. Asset based community development means instead of tearing down a vacant manufacturing building, repurpose the asset. In Durham, an old tobacco mill is now a combination of businesses, shops, restaurant and parking and is right across the street from a new Performance Art Center and a new baseball park for their minor league baseball team. In Atlanta, there are numerous examples of ABCD investment.
We people should do the same. We’ve been knocked down, so what are we going to do about it? Get up, dust ourselves off, and plan our next move. Failure is the best teacher, as the alternative to not heeding it, is to stay on the ground and mope. Keith

So, this is a wonderful development. Recycling in a different way. Since our buildings a built of stone we basically have done that as long as I can remember. But it has become a bigger trend over here too to rather re-use something existing. Clothes, furniture, toys, books,… We are trying to get away from a throwaway society and turn into a recycle/re-use society. Less trash, less pollution.
I hope this trend will win recognition!

Erika, absolutely. We could add food to that mix as well, as we throw away so much good food. Keith

Can I use a stronger methodology for this, too? 😉 My opinion, especially during my spiritual training period, has always been, that you sometimes have to actively support some people, very personally. Lol Michael
