What is the definition of success? To me, it is to go for what you feel you are and therefore to unfold your potential for the benefit of everyone.
I am sure that there is no one in this world who doesn’t want to be successful and to see the unfolding of what they are doing. What makes something we do in our life successful? Is it to follow traditional rules, go to school, learn a job, get married, buy a house, and raise kids…? Is it to find a way of making a lot of money and to live a luxurious life? Is it to show others that you are special in certain things and become a famous painter, singer, author, manager, or soccer player? Is it to support social facilities, work for welfare groups, or to go into politics and become president of a country? It is all of it and much more!!! It only depends on the person that stands behind these plans and ideas.
For the next weeks, I will explain five ways that lead to success in every part of your life. There is no ranking within the chapters since they are all connected. I am starting today with: Belief in you!
The secret of all successful people has never been to only make a lot of money and to sell themselves for an idea. Their success has always been lying in believing in their ideas, in loving what they do, in following their conviction, in not giving up when they are struggling at times, and in not believing the opinions of others who don’t agree with their own.
It is important for you to know, that your ideas are there as a reminder of what’s in your backpack for this lifetime. Don’t be scared only because you are obviously the first one to have an idea, a feeling, or the wish to do something no one in your family has ever done before. There is always a person that needs to be the first one that inspires others to believe in themselves, lives their dreams, and force evolution. It doesn’t matter if anyone supports your idea of starting a project. Only you are you and only you know what your dreams and wishes are. If you are scared that your friends or relative could criticize you or talk you out of your plans so just don’t tell anyone in advance. This is what I do. I know exactly when I want to step into a new adventure. I am not interested in discussing whether it is worth going for something or not since others can impossibly understand or judge my motivation.
Embrace the idea of your dream and be sure it only has grown inside of you because it is part of your being. Believe in yourself, believe in your feelings. Anyway, how things turn out: On the road to your purpose you can never fail but gain all the skills and experience that propel your forward.
Next week I am going to write about Authenticity
In Love and Light!

Very nice series here, Erika. I keep meaning to tell you…I received and read your book. Really enjoyed it. Your English is wonderful and your words are so motivating. The best compliment I could give you is that it reminds me a lot of one of your mentors…Wayne Dyer. Job well done. 💕 Van

Oh thank you, Van. I am so happy you like what you read by now. I have to say that I did not do the basic translation. I had two people working on it. But I did the end reading. It can likely be that I am having a similar style like Dyer. He made me understand connections and links and many things others were not able to make me understand. So that is probably “my language”.

Hi Alexandra, thank you for stopping by and taking the time 🙂 I am happy you liked the post and I wonder how you will like the others. Believing in ourselves is the basic for everything. When we believe in ourselves we can conquer the world.

This is so true sis, if you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect others to have faith? 😊

Yes, exactly. We can be so convincing in making us small that others believe it easily and we will feel the consequence!

Thank you, Marissa! I am so glad you like it. Since time is rare at the moment and I am on vacatin soon I thought it was a good idea to post the series again. I was a little nervous if it meets the expectations since that was back in my beginner weeks.

Hi Erica. Thanks for posting, your words are very interesting.
Your views on self-belief appear to come from the starting point that you are “capable” of some essence of self belief in the first instance.
For those of us who, for whatever reason, do not possess this capability to begin with, what would be your suggestions then?
If I genuinely can’t “believe in me” then the effort of following my dreams, with their inevitable highs and lows, becomes equivalent to me building my house on sand and watching it fall, day after day.
Sorry, don’t mean to hijack your post, would just be interested in what you think. Many thanks. 😉

I know what you mean. It truly is difficult because it all starts with believing in ourselves, with trusting in ourselves. It is difficult when we are taught all life long that we are not allowed to – in which way ever. But there are our dreams which are coming up again and again, and there are happenings, people, signposts which are leading us to the insight that we not only may but need to believe in ourselves. Only when we trust ourselves we gain the necessary power to stand behind our decisions. That acutally is the path to freedom. We need to take responsibility for our lives. Otherwise we are depening on other people’s good will. We will be hoping that the others change in order to make us feeling better or open up doors. But the doors can only be opened up by each person her-/himself. It is a journey to find that last link or dissolve the last obsticle in order to connect with our own Self again. Like you stumbled over this post it can give you another little hint on this path which goes along with other little hints. And all of a sudden you find connections between them and it becomes an insight. I don’t know if there is anyone who completely and without any doubt believes in himself. It is most of all the knowing that we are allowed to. No one can make us think, say or do anything we don’t agree. In the end it is our decision.
I am sorry, it just flew out of my fingers and I don’t know if I answered your question in the end or if I drifted somwehre else. I started believing in me, when I understood that I don’t need to fear anyone or anyhting. I am a grown up person and no may have power over me. That was the turning point in my life.

Hi Erika, thanks for replying.
I agree with a lot of your points.
I have written and deleted my reply three times now, so I’ve decided to have a rest!
Sometimes I really hate words, they’re so useless!
Thanks again 😉

Don’t bother. If you want you can email me. Perhaps that makes it easier to just let flow what you think.
In the end we only need to understand that each one of us has a certain gift to to share with the world. This is what make a life fulfilling and gives it its sense. If you don’t share your gift, no one else does it. Because there is only this one unique you in this world. That’s why it is so important that we believe in us in the treasure we hold, the treasure we brought into this world in order to expand ourselves into the outside world.

Awesome! If you don’t believe in yourself from the start, you are doomed. Looking forward to more!

Oh wow, so glad you liked it, Sylvester. It all starts, ends, or doesn’t even start with the belief ino ourselves. You know that for sure. Since I found out that I am allowed to believe in me I gained a power I never knew before.

Yes, this very inspiring and encouraging! We can have the whole world believe in us, but if we don’t believe in ourselves, it all goes for nothing. You are darn right you are allowed to believe in yourself and don’t you allow anyone to take that away from you.

Was a long journey to get that when you are told the opposite from childhood on. But there comes the day we grow up 😃 You are so right, it is of no use if the world believes in us if we don’t. In the end everything about us is our decision – consciously or unconsciously.

I for one, am glad you found your way out of the darkness and gained that power of belief, so you can step into the light of being you.
