Erika, good saying. I think we are misled into believing if you are not euphoric, you are not happy. Euphoric moments may never come or drop in only once in a while – birth of a child, holding your lover’s hand for the first time, etc. Yet, what we settle into is a contentment akin to sitting by the fire chatting with your partner, reading a nice book in your favorite alcove, or walking on the beach with someone. My wife likes to say the passion ebbs and flows, so it is imperative that you like your partner. I think the absence of this is what causes half of marriages to fail. Keith

Yes, Keith, moments with a spouse, a sunset, a specific song, a place,… can trigger that happiness. We just need to be careful not to search for happiness in others or in our surrounding. In the end, it is within, and has always been there. That’s important when those moments “outside” of us are not available.
