Recently, my husband and I spent a weekend at a SPA hotel. For me, this means I got the chance to read one of the books I started a while ago. While checking my books, I came across THE book that caused the last and most meaningful impact on my journey of self-discovery: My Sacred Self by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. The story of how this book made me pick it is as stunning as the read. However, I saw the book and immediately flipped a few pages to a poem, I remembered. I don’t want to lose too many words but simply want to share this poem with you. It demonstrates how our impatience, arrogance, and/or desire to control destroys rather than fixes.
Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend.
I brought my broken dreams to GOD
Because He was my Friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
in Peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back and cried
“How can You be so slow”?
“My child,” He said,
“What could I do?
You never did let go.”
by Lauretta P. Burns
When a problem overwhelms you,
hand it over to God.
All you need to do is:
Trust the journey.

often it’s pride that stops us doing that, pride often closes our hearts to love ❤️

That’s so true, Gary! One of the best tools the ego can throw in to block our view 💖
