#HitsByYears – 1983

The last day of digging songs from 1983 has already arrived. That is why you will find again three songs instead of two. There are so many other stars who produced unforgettable hits, like The Pointer Sisters, Paul Young, Culture Club, Kiss, Lionel Ritchie…. But of course, this week cannot miss a certain duet of two of the greatest. I hope you enjoyed this little journey through another great year of music.

Too Shy – Kajagoogoo

She Bop – Cyndi Lauper

Say Say Say – Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney

Feel free to add or mention in the comments your favorite song of 1983 and the memory that connects you with it.

Regardless of the release year, I’m supplementing this post with a tribute song to Meatloaf, who passed away yesterday. At Keith’s suggestion, I share his great song Paradise By the Dashboard Light.

They were pretty popular in 1983/84. Limahl sang the theme song of Neverending Story (in case you know that one). MJ and McCartney in a duet top everything!

Thanks Erika. Sadly, I learned the artist known as Meal Loaf passed away yesterday. He released one of the best rock and roll albums ever called “Bat out of Hell.” I reposted an old post today, but if you liked his music, may I request a tribute song? To me, his best song is called “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.” I know it was not written in 1983, but it is a terrific example of his work. Keith

Hi, Keith! I learned about his death today too. That’s so sad. Also, I saw that he was born the same year as my father. Of course, I will add this song of his right after I finished my reply. I noticed that I don’t know a lot of songs of his. Buth those I know I do love. Will edit the post now!

I literally just heard that Meat Loaf had passed and they were playing ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth’. An unusual man, he was a bit of everything to everyone but he knew how to create a hit and a video to go with it 😂 🤣 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋
