Today, I would like to share some photos of the place I live or actually what I see when I look out of my windows or being in my garden. I hope you feel the energy and peace a little bit that is coming from this place. To me, it is anything but a challenge to stay at home. I can finally absorb this all a little more and it fills me totally – much needed. While preparing this post, all I can hear is the sound of the birds.
This spring, we are remodeling big parts of our garden and already did other parts last summer/fall. That’s why most plants are only establishing and the early spring flowers have already gone. I am working on a rose garden as well and in a few weeks, the really big project will begin. We will have a little waterfall placed in a Japanese style garden. Ok, that will be done by professional gardeners. Once everything is ready, I will share more photos. Here are some excerpts.
The following is the view from my therapy practice. I took the pictures in the morning. In the evening, I can watch the sunset behind the mountains.
I hope you enjoyed the little walk around my house. Thank you for joining some moments of joy 😊

If I lived here in your home I wouldn’t want to leave either😍 It’s breathtakingly beautiful, serene and oh so peaceful! The one thing I miss living here in TX is the mountains up North. I lived near a gorgeous mountain range where I went hiking daily. It’s very flat here. You are so blessed to have such beauty in your own backyard! These pictures of your garden are wonderful too, beat wishes on the upcoming plans. I love a Japanese style garden idea, how magical❤ looking forward to pictures once it’s completed. Love and light sis and enjoy your weekend😊🙏

When we lived in the Buffalo area there were no mountains at all. But I never minded. I mentioned it somewhere that what I really need is a wide view. I loved the flat area as I love having this view over here.
Believe me, I can hardly wait until they finally start working on that garden. I am so excited 😊😃

If you enjoy wide, flat vires you would certainly appreciate North TX and the Dallas area😉. My childhood home was at the base of the Ramapo mountains. We really had the best of it all, 10 minutes from NYC and an hour and a half from the beach. I mostly enjoy an elevated landscape and my favorite it water of course 🌅 When I lived in RI, I used to take my body to a large park in Providence that had the most exquisite Japanese garden with these little bridges, benches to meditate on, bonsai trees and ornamental flowers. It was like walking into a fairytale. I’m so blessed to have made these memories with them.
The thing I’m enjoying most about this quiet time at home is the backyard. I have nicknamed it wild kingdom because there are so many different species of birds that like all the fruit and nut trees in the neighborhood. I sit for hours observing them. My son told me he’s going to send me some binoculars soon so I can get a closer look at them. So sweet he is.
Yes, the pictures of your new garden will be fabulous my friend I know it🌷🌼

A wonderful story about your time in the NY area. The backyard is a wonderful place. An island and bubble and also a discovery place. I love absorbing and observing nature in and through my garden, and to align with this wonderful energy again.
Have a lovely day, Maria 😊

Erika, you live in an enchanted place. I can see you singing the “Sound of Music” with the mountains in the background, like Julie Andrews as Maria. Thanks for sharing. Now, you realize, we will all want to come for a visit? Keith

It would be awesome to meet you all here! I am sure you would love it. And it would be an honor and joy for me. Can you imagine that I have never seen The Sound of Music? I think the Austrians are those who saw it the least… lol!

Erika, my mother took my birthday party group to see “The Sound of Music” in 1964. I watch it every holiday season. My wife and I have even seen the play. You would enjoy it immensely, as it has a great story (a true one) and fantastic music. With all of the wonderful songs sung by Julie Andrews and the kids, the two that standout the most are “Climb Every Mountain” sung by the Mother Superior and “Edelweiss” sung by Captain Von Trapp.
We would love to visit when all this mess clears. We have been planning a journey north to see a few blogging friends in Ohio and Minnesota. Keith

You made me curious. I have to check the songs out indeed!
It looks like the visiting plans are postponed for a while. But I hope that you can go there faster than expected. And of course, I would love to welcome you in our country as your tour guide 😊

I full agree to Ritu. You are blessed, Erika! Surrounded by the mountains, and with a very big garden around, too. Isn’t the border with Switzerland just on the other side of the property? Lol (Sorry!) 😉
Have a beautiful weekend, stay save and well. Michael

No joke, Michael. Yes, between my house and the mountain chain is the river Rhine. I can see the bridge from over here. You can reach it within 5 minutes per pedes. The Rhine defines the natural border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. And the next border to Austria is about 10 minutes away from where we live. It is very cool!
Have a lovely weekend too, Michael 😊

That sounds fantastic. I had already written “Paradise”. But you spend most of your free time mowing the lawn, right? Lol
Well, the border region here is somewhat “modest”. 😉
Wish you also a fantastic weekend, Erika!😊

Haha, I used to do it once a week and I liked doing it. It was my outdoor workout. And it did the trick. Meanwhile we are having a little robot doing this for us.
Haha, at least you know what you get… lol
Thank you, Michael 😊

Wonderful Erika. Reminds me of my early 60’s visit to Switzerland followed by a visit to Austria, Like you, I have no problem staying home … it’s my home! If I was not happy in it, I would have to do something about it or look for another home!

So, you would like it over here since we are located right in the middle of both countries but the kind of area is similar. I am glad you enjoyed the view.
Yes, I agree what you said about being happy or unhappy in your home. Either there is another home needed or a different attitude!

I could happily sit and look at those alpine views all day. You have such a stunning home. I can just imaging you sat outside today. We are lucky where we live with the open views but we don’t have any mountains. Looking at all the work your doing on the garden really is making me feel it’s time to sort ours out. Thank you for sharing them. xx

This post was inspired by our talks and because I wanted to keep you a bit updated with the pictures of the area you like so much.
Yes, there is still a lot to get done but I like it a lot. I am actually so happy that I can afford the time again to take better care of my garden. It is my passion to feel nature.
You know, I don’t necessarily need the mountains. I can also live in a rather flat area. I don’t think I would miss the mountains. It was like this when we lived in the Buffalo area. I think what I only need is a wide view.
So, I wish you good progress in your garden now, Gary 😊

I was brought up on the coast so I never saw a mountain until I was about 10. They seemed so exotic. A house like yours was something I dreamed about even back then.

Wow, really? I am glad that I can take you to this place in some way through the pictures. As we said, keep the thought close to your heart that one day soon you may visit the area!

Whoohoo, very lovely Erika. And the views do go on forever. And I love the colour in that very purple flower that looks like a bunch of grapes 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

Haha, yes, those are hyacinths. They smell enchanting and remind me of the scent of lilac. I have a few of them but many are already going down again. Others are about to come up. It is just the time in between now… lol! I am happy you liked the impressions. Thanks for sitting with me for a moment and enjoying the view 😊🙏
