It should. There is a threat that those opinions can become our own conviction. Therefore, we need to be careful even with our opinions about us.

A long time ago, when friends of mine said something negative about themselves, I used to respond with “Who told you that?”. When they answered, “I did”, I would say “Well, it’s not true!” There was usually a pause as they realized it was something they built up in their own mind. 🤔 (We can be our own worst enemy.)

It is crazy, isn’t it? Humbleness is a beautiful attitude, but when it turns into submission, it becomes unhealthy and devastating. I like your reaction on their statements.

Absolutely, Aptivi. It can be a long way to realize it when those opinions have sunk so deep that it merged with our own… but still, something in us keeps reminding that we are more than any opinion. Thank you 😊
