Yes, I remember that statement well. It is so empowering when you understand what this means. That way you are truly untouchable by any negative energies. I think I shared that story once too when a spiritual teacher was insulted by someone in the audience but stayed completely calm and untouched. The students asked why he could stay so calm. He replied: “If someone gives you a present, but you don’t take it, to whom does it belong?”
I need to remind myself of that more often.
