So true. We can’t know what is unknown until it appears and often brings with it, surprises, new information or just fun things!

Right, change is something that we don’t always appreciate. But only with change come chances and new things to discover, explore, and experience. Thank you, Jan!

Erika, Gail, nice work. Giving people the room to act and do the job offers many rewards. Loyalty, productivity, experience, paying it forward, et al. Seeing a child, associate, or friend apply learning you helped facilitate is hugely rewarding. Keith

That’s another aspect to look at, Keith. Yes, letting go and letting people do is not only a great development in oneself but also provides room for development for others. Unfortunately, my father could not let go and let people do. He needed to make sure that everything went exactly the way he wanted it and how he wanted it. Which caused him a lot of stress controlling that everything went “well” in his company. On one hand, he wanted people to take over responsibility and work, but in the end, he could not let go… which caused his heart-attacks and later his death as a consequence.

Erika, I am sad to hear that. As a former manager, delegating to others does require more work initially, but the beauty is it extends the productivity and experience of others. Those who don’t become bottlenecks. Keith

Exactly, and that is how working “together” works today. My father was old school: The boss and the people below who do what the boss says. He could not get out of that attitude. Probably, he also needed that “respect” and confirmation because he was never enough for his family and had to work hard for everything he achieved. There is a story behind everything…
