I had to learn that the hard way, but I am so glad, I did. Not being the slave of others anymore who want to fulfill their needs on one’s back. Thank you, Karla. Hope you are doing good, dear 💖

You’re welcome. Yes, I’ve learned hard ways, too! And some lessons daily still. I’m taking one day (hour!) at a time, sweet friend. I appreciate you so much. ❤️🙏🏻🫶🏻

Ah yes ………… a good one Erika!
It is nothing more than another decision we may have to make and, of course, take responsibility for. Every decision we make will have consequences, but that is simply the natural “order of things”. The consequences of saying “No” will impact us, but that does not take away our right to say “No” if that is our wish. 🙂

Exactly, Colin. A “No” comes with consequences as well as a “Yes”. But until we learned to say “No”, we had to take the consequences of a “Yes” we maybe never even wanted.

It is crazy, how long it can take to get that far, isn’t it?

It is a profound moment in our journey, to have the integrity of that self love to finally say ‘no’ 🤗❤️🙏

Indeed, but can others take it?

That’s the point: Does that matter?

If they can make life miserable for you -yes 😉

But that’s the point, Simon! You are entitled to say No. If you say Yes to please others, you will remain a people pleaser. I was the same. Afraid to go for my own needs only to please others who never respected me anyway. Once I stood up for myself, they realized that they could not play with me anymore. It is a decision for oneself.

I don’t find it easy…

“Nobody said, life would easy…” It took me severaly hits in the stomach until I finally stood up for myself, because otherwise those who “could not be amused with a no” would have kept stamping on me.

It got that physical?

No, symbolically spoken. Some tried to manipulate and use me over and over again. I was afraid to say now and get their anger. But at one point I was done with being treated that way. If I pleased them, I felt bad because I did not what I wanted to do. So, why shall I be the one feeling bad only because others think I should go after their will? I began to say no, politely but clearly, And over time, I had their respect. They could not play their games with me anymore.
