Everyone is perfect in their imperfection the way they are. Because only by their imperfections they can reach perfection. Thank you, Carol Anne!

This is a good advice. One should get it in very early days of life. 😉 xx Michael

Great quote. Should be taught in school at a very early age, and then provided as a “refresher program” throughout the rest of the schooling years!

That would be one of the most important lessons to learn for a healthy self-esteem and consequently for a successful development.

Sadly, so many industries (i.e. fashion industry) depend on getting us to believe that unless we do/wear whatever they promote, we are somehow less of a person. It is unfortunate that while industries employ psychologists to advise on the most effective marketing strategies, most of us a blissfully unaware of the “mind manipulation” being used.
On the good side, there are also many messages that promote “living YOUR life”, and “being true to YOURSELF” and similar messages …… so all is not lost! :)

Oh, yes, and social media doesn’t help those who are already insecure in who they are or are supposed to be. Also, the family can play the worst part in this all for a child.
As long as I can remember there were “trends” how to dress, to think, to eat, to BE… But as you said, the opposite voices get louder and support everyone to be themselves and not to fulfill any image others present.

We can respect other’s opinions but who we know we are is what matters most.

Exactly, how others see or want us to be is an opinion – maybe an inspiration – but never something we have to obey.
