We can get so easily lost in other people’s destructive energies. But remembering that feeling happy is actually in our hands can work wonders. Thank you, Gwen 💖

Erika, well said. The converse is true about unhappiness. “Don’t cede your power to others. You are the boss of you.” These are words of a friend who was a high school counselor. Keith

Those are very powerful words of someone who talks from exeperience. He must have had the perfect job when he forwarded this and more encouragement to his students. Thank you, Keith!

Erika, she was a wonderful woman who gave a lot of good counsel to those kids. Unfortunately, cancer took her way too early. Her advice is this case is a great example of her candor. Keith

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. Yes, for sure, with her way and advice she left a flag.

That is very true and I also agree with Jill 🤗

I fully agree too. The challenges everybody is facing are as unique as the person themselves. And if they come to test our inner steadfastness they will shake it. But as long as we are aware of the fact, that happiness is only a thought away, it may become less easy for challenges to shake our holy ground.

That is true too. It’s something one learns with age, I think.

Some days it is easier than others to find the inner peace that allows one to be happy, but you are right … happiness comes from within, not from outside. Hugs!

Outside influences can affect our inner stability a lot. But as you said, happiness is an inside job and the more we are aware of this, the less outside influences can disturb our inner holy ground. Much love to you, Jill 💖

Yes, we need to keep reminding ourselves of this, for it is too easy to get ensnared in what is happening in the world and forget to take care of our own mental health. We cannot help anybody if we are in distress! Thank you, sweet Erika … love ‘n hugs back to you!!! 💖

That’s the essential message: “We cannot help anybody if we are in distress!”. It is not selfish to take care of oneself but necessary to take care for others. Thank you 😊🤗

True, but sometimes there are just so many things crying out for our attention that we forget to take care of our own psyche. ❤

I couldn’t agree more! So many times I have fallen into this trap.

All of us who are intelligent and care about people and life fall into the trap sometimes. Only those who wear rose-coloured glasses and don’t bother to look around them are perpetually unbothered.

I love your definition here. It’s a fine line between healthy detachment and ignorance selfishness.
