This is more or less a sequel from last week’s post to show how a perfectionist’s mind can get you in the way. A couple of weeks ago, I had this profound insight moment. You know I have published my latest book in May. I have done a lot of marketing in different areas since. As a self-publisher, this is not easy, but a lot of work. Then, aside from kind comments on the related posts, it seemed as if it was not recognized. After a while, I felt some frustration building up and I noticed that something was going wrong. This is not how I want things to be. This is not who I want to be. This is not who I am. With the distance, I looked at everything, I was not surprised that such an attitude (the book is only one outlet of that inner concept) can lead neither to satisfaction nor to health.

It seems that the subject of “change” has become pretty central, lately. At least, I feel like this is what I need to write about when even from different perspectives. Even if someone does not like making changes, at some point, they do. Changes are necessary if we want to progress, learn and see more than before, start something we have never done before, reach for new shores, and expand ourselves. Changes are healthy to support our progress and keep us evolving, don’t you think?

This year our equivalent of the American Thanksgiving Day took place on October 2. It is not such a big family celebration as in the USA. But for us, there is a different story behind it. As the name suggests, we celebrate it out of gratitude for nature’s gifts at harvest time and, therefore, always in the fall. There is Thanksgiving Sunday when the priest symbolically blesses harvest gifts during Mass. Although we don’t celebrate this day so exuberantly over here, I think it doesn’t hurt to share some necessary thoughts about gratitude again.

Several months ago, I printed this quote and hung it above my workplace. Although I do know this, I find myself worrying about negative results (mainly when it comes to my employed job).
