a friend of mine (for over 59 years) and I were having a conversation about this very topic mere hours ago. ❤

We can never get lost”—that lands so different when you understand the signposts. It’s not about being alone with yourself. It’s about recognizing that every person, every moment of love we receive from outside is actually leading us deeper into self-love. That’s beautiful. 🤍

Erika, I must confess, this is a confusing quote to me. Yes, we must find love within us, but sometimes we need that person who believes in us, to make us realize we are capable of so many things. I cite the lyrics of Cat Stevens’ song “I’m looking for a hard-headed woman, one who will make me be best. And, if I find a hard headed woman, I know my life will be blessed.” Keith

Yes, Keith. That’s not a contradiction. It can help a lot to have people around who believe in us and help guide us through to ourselves. Those are part of the “signposts outside of us”. But those outside signposts can also be very tough ones who leave us with nothing else, but what we have within…

And while sometimes it takes the outside things to remind us, it’s always there waiting for us inside

That’s exactly it! It has always been there, waiting for us to be ready to see it. Thank you, Beth!

Thankful for those signposts! And once we discover that pure love within, we can share it out. Love this!

Thank you, Jan. So am I! In hindsight we can see that many tough situations in life were necessary to take us to places we had never reached without them. Finding the love within might often need very tough circumstances. But once we found it, we understand.

Love you have love within it is a compass that keeps you centered and you are able to share it externally.

Right, sometimes we need external factors to find the love within to share it again in the follow. Thank you!

You’re welcome and that’s very true!

Too often we fail to see the love inside when others see it as a fault.

That’s the problem, we believe others more than ourselves. What a big misunderstanding since they don’t see the world though our eyes. I don’t mean we should not listen, but only believe what we really can identify with.

Very true. Too often we give others the power to tell us what is best (in their opinion) for us.

Also very true. We always need a reflective behaviour in order to be able to recognize ourselves best. Best wishes, Michael

Bingo and beautifully said Erika. We do indeed ever look for that love ‘out there’, until we realise it is inside us. And finally understand that why we were blind to it was because of what we held in front of us, like a barrier, those fears that we aren’t lovable. Understand our fears and it dissolves like anything we understand, and no longer constantly pestering us to be resolved. Unconditional love is that ‘resolved’ love. Great post kind lady, the answer to life 🤗❤️🙏

Yes, that barrier, or how I like to say, that filter, that keeps us from seeing clearly. That blurred or distorted picture can be so scary that we don’t dare to look at it. But it is only that blocked view that makes us anxious. However, we ARE nothing but unconditional love, that’s why everything else feels burdening, pressuring, and exhausting 💖

Yes it is indeed a filter Erika, and thankfully something that time cleans out so we can see truly. Well said 🤗❤️🙏
