Oh, yes. About 20 years ago, a spiritual teacher said to me: Change only one step you usually take and your life will begin to change.

Erika, I like that. We have talked before about the idea of passing an interesting store on a highway and turning around and going back. I have never regretted doing that. Keith

To tell from the many stories you told on your blog or in our conversations, I am sure you know what this means. It is as challenging as it is liberating and generates chances to see yourself and life in a new light with a new path to a new destination.
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate thema lot, Colin.

“Losing yourself” is a wonderful term (in your quote) because it encompasses not only a voluntary desire to reassess one’s circumstances but (and probably more importantly based on my life history) also the “kick” necessary to change one’s life direction.
Your Posts are always thought provoking Erica. Keep ’em coming! 🙂

“Reassass one’s circumstances” I like that a lot! It has this strong constructive and determined movement alread in it.
Thank you for your encouragement. I will! You made my day, Colin 😊

Most definitely. We spend a lifetime re-inventing ourselves as we change on the inside and outside circumstances change. And often, losing is winning! 🙂 Thank you, Erika.

That is an important statement. It is not only in losing ourselves due to our daily lives, trying to fit in, and fulfilling obligations. We are also constantly developing and therefor changing. It is a natural process to shed the skin since we simply grow out of it. Wonderful, Jan. Thanks for adding this! May I quote you?💖

Sometimes we have to shed the outside notion and opinions to get back to our true self.

Right, so much builds up around us throughout our days, months and years. Then life finds occasions to make us break the blinding shells, mostly painful but effective.

Out of the pain we emerge more closer to our authentic self.

Oof! That has been my experience and it was no fun. I am not sure I have completely lost that false self but I have come some distance.

I don’t think we ever know if we ever get rid of that false self. But for sure, with such experiences we lose it piece by piece. Thank you, Joseph!

💖We find so much depth in ourselves, when we get rid of the distorting surface. Even though it takes us to our limits.💖

Powerful post Erika. That is the biggest part of my journey so far. To go down a very dark and crazy path to face myself, and understand who I truly am. These words are very profound kind lady 🤗❤️🙏
