It was tried in the 1960’s with “flower power” and “all you need is love” and many related concepts however, I think it went astray just a little at a personal level and was never adopted at a political level. Sadly, power, money and egos still rule today ….. but one day …. who knows eh!
Melanie Safka (some say the original “flower child”!), and her “Beautiful People” song emphasized the value of acknowledging our differences and our similarities and simply loving everybody.

That’s true, the whole flower power era was like an awakening into a more liberal, tolerant, and open world. When even it could not put a foot into politics, it’s not dead. Those who want a world ruled by money and power are crying out loud right now, but I believe that your mentioned “one day” is coming closer anyway.
Thank you for sharing this song. It is like this cry for understanding that we are one and that we only find peace in realizing this.
