What do you see?
A dirty man with a strange smell
Or maybe one who does
Make sure that our streets are clean
Or that the landscape thrives?
An unfriendly nervous woman
Or maybe one who drives
Two hours before she’s at work
Then cares for patients and their lives?
A rude and impertinent kid
Or one who’s on his own?
Maybe no one cares for it
No friends but all alone
There’s more behind than we may see
More than the first impression
Take a step back before you judge
Exchange rejection for compassion

That’s very important to see the whole thing, not only what we want (or maybe love) to see. xx Michael

Even if we know the story, still, we don’t really know how it feels for that person. It is a fragile path to judge anyone: the bad lucky guys as well as the “bad” guys. Thank you, Michael. I always appreciate your views.

When we realize we all have our journey…so that we can see and believe in who we are. I’ve met some horrible people, but they are the one’s that are struggling truly, not understanding their journey yet, just as we don’t for a long time. I can get 10 people into the same situation, a few calmly attend, some petrified of its outcome and the rest varying between. This world with its love has everything so we can all go through them and see. Murderers, rapists, carers, parents, children, rulers, you name it, a lesson learned, a love found…ours. I didn’t understand the ‘pass no judgement’ given to many, until I realized what it was. I have no true understanding, even if I go through the same thing. Simply because I have been brought up differently and see it from a completely different place inside. Judgement is usually a non acceptance of ourselves, and on the day that we do accept us…we will see, truly see its purpose…and let that judgement go. You are seeing well dear lady. Great share 😀❤️🙏🏽

That is right what it is about. Not only that we cannot know where and why others go through particular situations, but even if we went through something similar it is never the same. As you said, everybody has a different approach and experience because of individual development and path. What one does not even notice, can break another one.
I love your sight of this but I love your sight in general. Thank you for always taking the time and sharing your impression, your thoughts, and your experienced wisdom, dear Mark 💖

Thank you kind lady. When I truly saw through my fear, the opening truly gives us all an incredible understanding. It’s like forever at school not understanding a mathematical equation…until one day it suddenly pops open and you finally see what it is…and…it becomes so easy from then onward. But only because of that understanding, it takes away the stress and worry of it. In understanding our fear it releases us from its hold into a freedom like no other. That freedom is like nothing else simply because we have held it in worry for a lifetime. The ‘letting go’ in that understanding is like nothing else. The math’s equation, even though it drove us nuts, is absolutely nothing like a life’s fear. I’m about to do a post on this understanding of love, through our fear…in fact…I’ll post it…right now 🤣❤️🙏🏽

It truly is like 1000 light bulbs are turned on at the same moment. So much insight that makes you sit and stare in awe and it takes time to fully understand what all you begin to understand putting one piece to another.
Looking forward to your post, Mark 😊

Exactly right, Erika. There’s no need to be judgmental in an instant, for anyone.

That picture is stunning … so beautiful it defies words! And your poem is equally beautiful … a reminder that we don’t know what someone is going through, cannot know who they are, and therefore we should not make snap judgments of others. Thank you for this reminder, so eloquently stated!

I think, even those with the best intentions need that reminder. We are simply human, aren’t we? Thank you very much for your lovely comment, Jill 💖

I agree with you there … we are ALL guilty of it at some time or another. ❤

Everyone has a backstory that cannot be read from a first impression..Good poem, more compassion is necessary 🌞

One look cannot explain a life’s story. And it also doesn’t need to. We need to detach from an attitude of reflexive judgment and develop one of reflexive compassion and support.

Exactly, drop the judgemental attitude. None of us have a perfect life and some have it harder than others and that’s globally.

Right, we are all sitting in the same boat in one way or the other.

Nobody grows up thinking “Yeh …….. I want to be homeless and living on the street.”
Nobody grows up thinking “I want to be addicted to drugs.”
Nobody grows up thinking “It’s my goal to be a criminal as soon I can.”
Nobody grows up thinking “It’s my dream to be an abusive person.”
Nobody grows up with those goals in mind, They are in that position as a result of their own life experiences. If we can understand that, we have taken the first step towards acceptance, which in turn allows us to treat them like fellow human beings that simply need some help and guidance.

That’s exactly the point. No one ever planned to be at any point like those you mentioned. Still, it can happen in the twinkle of an eye, and all of a sudden it can happen to us. They are not less worthy just in a difficult situation and no one is entitled to look down on them. They mirror what we really look like. Thank you for your thoughts, Colin.

Judgment is a reflection. I avoid it at all costs!

Same over here but I am not spotless. Some reflexive thoughts can appear when even I exchange them as soon as I notice them.

It’s easy to “fall into judgment”. Beware. In the blink of an eye, the tables may turn. 👀🍃

It happens so easily, and I catch myself too. But at least if we notice we can change something. And yes, the situation can always change quickly!
