Trip To Meersburg, Germany

Last Saturday we visited the little medieval town of Meersburg at the Lake Constance. As you may guess, the name of the place comes from the impressive castle. We had a beautiful when even very hot and extremely humid day (35°C/ 95°F). We went there with the whole family. It was a birthday gift for my uncle, who turned 80 this year. But let’s begin with some pictures of the Meersburg first.

What a view from up there!

And here are some impressions from the old town and the lake side.

So beautiful, what a lovely visit you had! I love going through castles because you can feel the history in them. I’ve always been do intrigued by medieval times. What an interesting era to have lived through ❤

That era must really been interesting but I always thought, I am glad to live now. It leaves a bitter taste to me in some way. Maybe the memories of former lives. I always say, I am sure I was burned on a pile once… lol. I am still a herbal witch… lol

Girrrrl I was just thinking about that, have spoken to some other of my spiritually inclined soul sisters about it too! I was burned too. We have reconnected in this life because of the soul trajectory of our spirits. We worked together, i’m sure of it. There’s a deep memory i recently unearthed of this with my mentor and teacher who just brought me through my shamanic apprenticeship. Amazing, love it💗🔥😊🙌

It is so amazing and explains a lot about how we feel about things. It may not change it but it may help to deal with it better because we are more likely to understand and accept it.
This is also a proof that we are the sum of everything we have ever been and experienced. Actually we don’t need to know about the past because in that awareness we know that who we are today is absolutely right!

AMEN!! It’s all exactly as it is. The feelings, the memories are what I find fascinating while i’ve stepped into this role. They just started flowing back. It’s our connection that I love my dear. Separated only by an ocean and continents lol….we see each other, feel each other, understand and know our souls. It’s so cool💗💗💗

That’s lovely to know that you feel a connection and the pictures reminded you of your grandparents. This place is in the south of Germany. Do you know the area your grandparents lived?

Isn’t it a magical place. Like going back in time. I love those cities which still radiate so much history. And you don’t have to travel long to find them. The next on is only 15 minutes away in Feldkirch, Austria. Another beautiful medieval city with a castle (when even without a lake). I should do a photo tour through that city too and share it with you!

Ah, yes! That’s beautiful. My daugher and her husband drove along the amalfi coas which includes Naples last year. That is what I love a lot about Italy. Those villages built into the hill right above the sea. It is a dream!

YES!!! When I saw these buildings nestled into the hillside I just gaped for the sight was just so different from anything I’ve ever seen. I actually went up into the mountains where I joined in with the local women who were making wine. Grapes in this huge wooden bowl like structure had women inside with their bare feet squashing the grapes. I’ll never forget what I saw and experienced. Never!

I can imagine what deep impressions this must have left in you. You can feel their connection and closeness to nature in how they live and what they do.

Hello Erika.

What a lovely post. We have been to Lindau, where we spent few days! It was wonderful place. We also visited to Kressbronn, Konstanz and Mainau, but we did not visit to Meersburg. Driving around the Bodensee is a small, but great way to know more about this area. Mainau is a must-to-visit-place.

Thank you for post bringing up our memories.

I love Mainau! In 2016 I sang there at a wedding. Beautiful scenery although a heavy thunderstorm went down before and during the wedding. Also Konstanz is beautiful. And Lindau is one of those German cities I have been to the most since I was a child. We have been visiting the city mostly during the summer months but over the past year it has also become one of our favorite Christmas market cities.
I am happy I could trigger some beautiful memories. Hope to see you in the area soon one day!

I cannot believe the many places you can adventure in your area. It’s like all lands, their history and events all meet at your doorstep. Beautiful pictures of another world. Thank you dear lady, almost a holiday for me 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

That is one of the things I tried to convey. There is so much to see and to explore in such a short distance. And there is so much more around!
I am happy you said that. I really wanted to share this in order to make you and others feel like going on a short vacation trip. Most of all now since so many are still on a lockdown.
I am happy you liked it so much, Mark 😊

It was a trip indeed Ericka. And especially to me is the green everywhere. Here in Australia and especially after a ten year drought, it is a blessing to see so much green, fresh, living land. Don’t get me wrong, this land is something different in itself, but it is a hard land even in its beauty.
And of course, now that I have said that, it is about to rain where I live just to show me its beauty too 😂 🤣
Thank you for sharing dear lady, it is indeed a beautiful place, feel free to take us on any trip you wish. After your work is done that is 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

It is the difference that makes everything so special. I don’t want to live up on a glacier but love to visit and appreciate this monument of nature. I love visiting the desert and appreciate its special beauty. I love the ocean and shores, I would love to visit a rainforest once. think there is no landscape in this world I would not think is beautiful because it is so unique! So, I hope you enjoyed the rain. I enjoy the sun a lot right now after the heavy rain of the first days of the week… haha.

That is just around the corner from over there. I love the Lake Constance area in each of the three countries surrounding it. You were lucky to live in Konstanz. I have been there several times and like it a lot!
