For this #MomentsOfJoy, I thought of a song that always manages to make me smile and dance. The song itself has this effect on me but also takes me back to the time it was published. I was 13 and as usual, we spent a part of the summer break in Vienna. When I heard this song, I loved it so much that I made it the first song I bought on a single (like the one below).

For the younger peeps here, those records were a bit larger than a CD and had one song recorded on each side of the record. You had to be very careful not to scratch it or otherwise that scratched part of the song was destroyed. That means the song itself was not a joy to listen to anymore.
But now enjoy some foot-tapping moments!

Lol – Thank you for describing what singles have been. The same with the old floppy disks. The song is fantastic. Thank you Erika!

I actually saw Johnny Cash in concert when I was in second grade. He had on a very sparkly suit. Ironic for the guy who was known as the “man in black”. 😜🎶

Now that brought back some memories Erika. And speaking of which, I still have many LP’s tucked away in boxes. T-Rex, Pink Floyd, The Sweet, Led Zeppelin, Suzi Quatro and even an Alice Cooper among them. I still haven’t figured out why as I have nothing to play them on. Though I do think they have the odd modern 331/3 player around. Maybe it’s just the memories, it was a great time 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂

Mark, those record players are still available. There is a market of old and classic LPs. They are precious. So keep your LPs and try to get a player… because you say it, it was a really good time. When we put those records on they all went a long with a particular feeling in the moment we chose to listen to them. 😊😊

I loved listening to records. It was more special than a cassette tape!

I agree, sis. It was a ceremony to put those records on the record player and put the needle on. Also, how carefully we handled them. They were treasures!

My parents still have their old player squirrelled away. I think my brother wants it when he has space!

That is cool. I stillhabe mine, but we put it in the cellar some years ago because we die not have enough space either. As a result, the records went there too. But at least I still have it😁

It’s there to bring magic another day! My Pops still has an old cine film player and it is so much fun to get it out and watch the old films!
