Which Wolf (Not) To Feed?

About three months ago, I deleted my Twitter/X account due to the behavior of the X owner. I don’t want to support his attitude, not even passive. Instead, I set up an account on BlueSky a couple of weeks ago. Please leave your handle in the comments for those of you who are on BlueSky. I’d love to follow you.

However, this was my first post:

I wrote it according to the current political situation in the US. Whatever we give our attention, we feed. We provide energy and feed the object of our attention. Whether we want or don’t want that object of attention doesn’t make any difference. Therefore, feeding something we don’t even like is less beneficial. As long as we turn to the unwanted, things won’t get better.

I cannot and don’t want to ignore what is going on in the States since I am listening to or watching the news. Furthermore, I have to watch and follow associated regulatory developments due to my employed job. Also, the plans of a particular person possibly affects the EU in several ways. But that is enough for me and I decided to stay away from political and fired-up discussions or rants on social media (which is not easy anyway – I am hardly finding accounts on BlueSky that do not hit you with political posts). Instead, I will do my best to feed the good.

#JustAThought… And Suddenly They See

A couple of weeks ago, Colin of meandray.com mentioned the quote (above) of a young woman called Jane Marczewski in a comment. I remembered that quote and immediately checked YouTube. 30-year-old Jane participated in the show America Got Talent. She had already beat cancer twice. But shortly before she got on stage, she was told that they found cancer in her liver, her lungs, and her spine. She had a two percent chance of surviving. She said: “I have a 2% chance of survival, but two percent is not 0%. 2% is something. And I wish people knew how amazing it is.” And she smiled all over her face. She also said that it is important to her that everyone knows that she is so much more than the bad things that happen to her. Although she had that diagnosis, she appeared so full of life and joy and was literally glowing. You will see it in the video I shared at the end of this post. Sadly, she passed away only a few months later.

Why Worry?

QuoteFancy.com

Because it is a reflex. Have you noticed that some people ask about how someone is doing, and then they say: “I am glad to hear because then I don’t need to worry.” When I hear that, I promptly say: “Exactly, you never need to.” It appears that some show their compassion by the grade they worry about something or someone. But what’s that for? It only adds negative vibes to someone that already tries to stay as positive as possible.

It’s In The Way We Vibrate

Several months ago, I printed this quote and hung it above my workplace. Although I do know this, I find myself worrying about negative results (mainly when it comes to my employed job). At least I notice and usually get myself out of this negative attitude and back on track. Still, I am surprised how deeply such behavior must be rooted in me.

The ‘Ten Positive Things’ Challenge

Our friend Rob of Robert M. Goldstein invited his readers to participate. A love the idea about this challenge. We are talking nicely about others and value a lot about them but when it comes to ourselves… So, if you have a few minutes then please write down 10 beautiful things about you.
In honor of the creator of this challenge, I will use the original words:

Irony: Being Negative Can Be So Much Fun!

20170121_093037_001.jpg

It was a foggy day when I wrote this post. No rays of the sun and really cold. All frozen for days. Opening windows in the morning and letting some fresh air in had become a challenge for someone who is cold so quickly. I cannot stand the cold. I also cannot stand when it is dark in the morning. Then thinking of another day below that high fog without any ray of sun, … my thoughts seemed to enjoy going to all things that bothered me like the busy time ahead in that week and all those things that recently made my abdomen cramp, and much more.
