Welcome to another summer Tuesday. Regardless of the weather (which is just incredible while I am scheduling this post) this song IS summer! Happy Tuesday, everybody!

Not Ignoring You But…

… this week was a bit on the crazy side. I worked more hours in my employed job, and there was also more to do in my self-employed job, next to some private stuff that squeezed in. However, I threw everything overboard and enjoyed some hours at Lake Constance (Swiss lakeside) this afternoon. It has been boiling hot and humid today again. So, it was just great to walk a little along the shore, empty the mind, and later enjoy some cool treats. And I needed this break to charge my batteries.

#MomentsOfJoy

Today, I would like to share a video I posted some years ago. It shows (perhaps a little too much) the difference in the sound between German and other languages… Have some moments of joy 😄

#MomentsOfJoy

Hi, everyone! What about some songs which don’t only spread a good feeling and give a lift but also take us along into a world where we can leave our worries behind and find distance to those we used to hang on to. And what songs could work better than Disney songs?

#MomentsOfJoy

I think all of us make good use of some distractions from the current #1 theme. Why not sharing something funny, uplifting or beautiful (at least) once a week. It can be a joke, a picture with a beautiful view from the area you live or a place you like a lot, a song, a video, a story or whatever comes to your mind. It only needs to be positive with only positive words.

Irony: Being Negative Can Be So Much Fun!

20170121_093037_001.jpg

It was a foggy day when I wrote this post. No rays of the sun and really cold. All frozen for days. Opening windows in the morning and letting some fresh air in had become a challenge for someone who is cold so quickly. I cannot stand the cold. I also cannot stand when it is dark in the morning. Then thinking of another day below that high fog without any ray of sun, … my thoughts seemed to enjoy going to all things that bothered me like the busy time ahead in that week and all those things that recently made my abdomen cramp, and much more.

Melrose Plantation – Natchitoches, Louisiana

Yesterday, my dear host Linda, took her mom, Phyllis of Anchors and Butterflies, and me further to the south of Louisiana where we visited the Melrose Plantation. It was another beautiful day. The weather was gorgeous and so was the company!

When English takes over…

Lately I started a random series about my adventures with the English language in a world that speaks German. English has become a part of my life when we moved to Buffalo 17 years ago. A few years after we were back again I started a daily email conversation with my best friend for a quite a while who lives in California.  Since May 2014 I am running this blog and my daily working hours on it are increasing. Meanwhile I can say that I spend 90 percent of my time in English rather than in German. That can be a little tricky… Read more ›

When English takes over…

I had the idea to start a random series about my adventures with the English language in a world that speaks German. English has become a part of my life when we moved to Buffalo 17 years ago. A few years after we were back again I started a daily email conversation with my best friend who lived in California. Although he is Swiss he felt more comfortable writing English. Since May 2014 I am running this blog and my daily working hours on it are increasing. Meanwhile, I can say that I spend 90 percent of my time in English rather than in German. That can be a little tricky…

Tidbit Tuesday!!!

I just remembered a happening during my school time. Since it is Tuesday I thought I’d make it a tidbit.

I was 15 and the darling of one of our teachers. Whenever the class wanted something they pushed me to convince him which mostly worked out. I did not feel well because I never wanted to abuse others… but when it served the purpose and nobody got hurt… 😉

Balboa Peninsula

On the day of Halloween we went to Balboa Peninsula. This beautiful place lies along a wide beach and is the extension of the Newport Beach beach. At the end of the beach of Balboa Peninsula you have a view to Corona del Mar and also to the harbor of Balboa Island. I was often sitting at a view-point at Corona del Mar looking towards Balboa Peninsula and always wondered how it might be over there.

We had a beautiful morning – only few people around.

After that we drove up to Hacienda Heights. It has become a tradition to go to this Buddhist temple when I am in So Cal. I love that temple. Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures in the big temple house. It is beautiful. There is such a special atmosphere of peace and relaxation. Since I took pictures all the other times I did not take too much this time. Therefore I share some photos with you from former visits.

Trip to Oceanside CA

It has been a while since I posted my last impressions of my days in California after the I CAN DO IT convention and my book signing. Btw., you would not believe what is happening at the moment in my life. On Sunday I gave my last workshop for this year and it was awesome. I am very excited about scheduling my workshops for next year. Yesterday I got a call from my publisher and perhaps I get the chance to give workshops in a big business hotel in our capital beginning next year. It is still in discussion but things are in motion like the offer for another marketing campaign with Kimberly Rinaldi. I met her at the book signing in Pasadena and she just got back to me. What a year!!!

As I began to love myself…

20120927111210_charlie_chaplin_everything_is_a_gag

I just stumbled again over these beautiful words. Charles Chaplin delivered this speech on his 70th birthday. Probably you all know it already. But every time I read it, it moves me! It goes so deep and leaves me with wet eyes all the time. So much wisdom and experience are lying in these words, reminding us that we can lift the curtain of illusion in order to find the beauty, love, and all the answers we have been looking for.

Trip to the Big Apple – Impressions

While we have been to Manhattan we visited so many places like wall street, made a city tour, walked through the Battery Park, shopped at Macy’s, sucked up the pulse on times square and broadway and so much more. Our two days in NYC were truly filled whith a lot of impressive memories and the weather supported everything! My last post about Manhattan shall give you some impressions over the city itself.  Although I would not want to live here it is a great adventure that has everything you could wish for. NYC is not America but it is one of my favorite cities to travel to!

Now enjoy a bunch of photos showing parts of the Big Apple!

The following two pics were taken from the roof top of our hotel:
