I recently saw a post on Instagram about stress relief. It recommended to gently press the area between your eyebrows for 30 seconds while slowing your breathing. That reminded me that not only do our thoughts have power over our bodies, but our bodies also have power over our thoughts (or at least influence them). We know that stress can arise from thought patterns such as: I have to be faster, I have to get this done, I have to understand this, I have to meet expectations, I have to succeed… and so on. These thoughts are reflexes, and by practicing pausing and transforming them, we can change our thought patterns and thus these reflexes. BUT….
